    Ignition key won’t turn

Hi folks Resurrecting this thread here I’ve got the same problem progressively getting worse, the steering wheel is neutral, I.e., no strain but the key simply will not turn. Can’t find a used part anywhere and don’t mind having an odd key. Took 10 minutes of wriggling today before it freed...

    Freelander 1 rear differential

Good call, I will give that a go. Meanwhile I assume that I am OK to carry on driving with no propshaft connected to the rear diff? I have removed everything from the IRD connection to the diff.

    Freelander 1 rear differential

Having read many of the helpful posts on here regarding rear diff problems I was aware of the symptoms but, I rarely drive the car as it belongs to my wife. I drove it at the weekend and heard more road noise from the rear than normal so decided to remove the propshaft completely. The noise is...

Freelander 1 Rough idle and low power when warm

Thanks for this Arctic. I am not sure what Evans Halshaw actually replaced, I think it was a whole new pump. I have since temporarily disconnected the MAF sensor but this seemed to make things worse.

Freelander 1 Rough idle and low power when warm

Hi all My car is the TD4 with 60,000 miles it has just had a new high pressure fuel pump fitted but has now developed an annoying lumpy tickover when warm. From cold all is ok but as soon as it is warm the tickover varies from 500-750 and acceleration is slow until revs increase to around 2500...

Water leak into rear of Freelander

I have just identified the leak into my boot space by removing the carpet and then drying out the floor. I then shut the door and using a garden hose I sprayed water onto the back door starting at the bottom and progressively getting higher until looking through the windows I could see water...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Well I only picked up my first ever Land Rover yesterday - I traded in my MG ZT-T V6 for it, I must say they are very different beasts! I decided I needed a more economical towcar and the Freelander TD4 seems to fit the bill. Any way, my first mod. I noticed one of the front sidelights was...
