Thanks for the replies chaps. Replaced the centrifugal oil filter a month or so ago. Haven't noticed any difference. The car is performing fine at the moment so will probably ignore it for the time being ha.

Gents, Upon turning off my manual TD5 disco, there's an audible whine that slowly decreases in pitch and volume and eventually stops after maybe 5-10 seconds. The whine seems to come from the gearbox, as if something is spooling down. I'm presuming the whine is there when the engine is turned...

Cheers for the replies and shopping advice fellas. After a trip to the local independent landy garage, I can confirm the alloys are 17" disco 3 jobs that were adapted to fit the td5. Think I'm gonna replace them with some 235/70R16's in the GG AT. Seem to be a decent compromise. Thanks again!

Many thanks for the replies! I'm not 100% on them being 17's but I don't think they're standard disco 2 alloys at any rate. Hoping they might be worth a few quid cos I'll be selling them when I get the new ones :D

It just said "repair kit" so you're probably right. The only thing wrong with the fobs I currently have is the wee rubber buttons are gone and the actual connectors on the circuit board inside are gone...so hopefully with at least a new shell I can bodge something together :D Also just found...

Hi guys, looking for some help please! A few months ago the key fob stopped working so I took the motor to a specialist and had it plugged in and sorted that the alarm etc only responds to the physical key and door lock. This solved the problem at the time. Just had the car up for a few days...

I would imagine so! But to be honest it's been knackered for a while and I can't see that it would give the effect of rear wheel steer? Got new ones on the way anyway so if that is the cause it'll be getting sorted soon. I'm definitely not convinced that's the only issue though.
