What have you done to your Freelander today

installed new rotors, carriers & pads after finally (after at least a year) diagnosing a noisy off-side front brake. Seized guide pin for the win. Inner pad, rotor & carrier were toast. Been living with a seized clutch release fork for about 2 years - savings in petrol over the past few months...

    Freelander Fan

disconnecting the coolant temperature sensor causes the radiator fan to run continuously - it is likely that the sensor has failed or broken/corroded wires or connectors. cheers, Simon

clutch release lever was seized - angle grinder said hello to 27mm impact socket to cut out 2 adjacent faces - socket & breaker bar made short work of freeing up the shaft from the bell housing. Plenty of Plusgas, obvously. 20 mins of working it back and forth got it properly freed up. Clutch...

What have you done to your Freelander today

pulled the prop shafts & vcu, prompted by a metalic rattle from under the car when moving and a repetative thumping from the rear left in low speed corners or at low speed decelerating to a stop in gear. Took it for a drive after removing the the props and vcu - all the noises are gone away. So...

What have you done to your Freelander today

fixed it! went to the garage and had them pull out the dent as much as they could - they used a chain round the spare wheel bracket and fixed the othe end to an I-beam concreted into the ground and drove away till the dent pulled out while I stood and winced. Window still didn't want to retract...

    the "F" in SRS

Original fault couldn't be diagnosed coz Autologic could not connect to the srs module - I replaced it with a 2nd hand unit. Now Autologic can talk to the srs module and it calls a fault code saying high resistance on passenger airbag - but there is no passenger airbag & never has been. So the...

    the "F" in SRS

took it to the garage - now the autologic scanner can see the srs module - but the srs module thinks there should be a passenger airbag so it still calls a fault. There is no passenger airbag from new. So if there is a connection on the loom for the passenger airbag I can fit one or trick the...
