    Range Rover Classic restoration project

Thanks for your very good information, and kind advices! Very helpful indeed! Now a question: if those vehicles are so valued (indeed, when I was driving in London, I had a couple of people saying at red light that they really liked it!) we need special insurance? What are your recommendations...

    Range Rover Classic restoration project

Superb picture! Thank you for sharing it! I have seen a Santana, a Land Rover manufactured in Spain under licence, the guy traveled Africa with it. The complete set, I think a 110 with sleeping tent on top of car. He dreams of the Classic, does not find it... Thanks for pictures...

    Range Rover Classic restoration project

Hi all, I have a Range Rover Classic, two door, Shire blue, not a point of rust, engine completely renewed, suspension top condition, and I have just returned from a meeting in Bavaria and noticed how much interest this car has for fans of rustic old timers for travel or transformation...

    Vibration in P38 at braking

Maybe the rear disks? I really don't know. The fact is that I had this vibration about six months ago, and that replacing the front discs completely solved the problem. Now it is here again. I was thinking that maybe the quality of the Ferrodo discs I bought online is not good. Perhaps faked parts?

    Vibration in P38 at braking

Hi! Just came back after 6000 km of travel with the P38, and I have this vibration when I am braking at speed. According to the garage, the front discs have to be replaced. I did that about 8000 km ago, and I am not a hard user of brakes. So I don't get it! One answer: I got the brakes...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Driving from Castello de la Plana to the center of Barcelona. I did about 4,500 km since October 13, mostly in Spain. The P38 did magnificently with 8.3 litres per 100 km (Diesel). Met very few other Range Rovers. One near Valence, a RR3, and two Evoques in Barcelona. Of course, the three of...

    Soft dash restoration

I got mine disassembled in a garage in Poole, Dorset, and they were amazed that I had no rust underneath, after almost 25 years of continuous use. The only rust I got was guess where under the rubber mats of the driver's cabin. Ouh! But otherwise very clean!! Rust is the Nr 1 killer of...

    Range Rover Classic restoration project

Yes, that is amazing, she is leaning to the side! And I don't know why. They even give different springs to balance the weight of whatever equipment. But it was amazingly cheap to replace the parts! I mean, much cheaper than I expected... Did you go polybush? I did!

    New Tyres

Yes, I had a hard time with this too, as I use XM+S type MIchelins on the Classic, and an old Mercedes I have. But the thing is that in Continental Europe, like in Russia for instance, you need winter tyres no question. Here in Western France, I recommend using summer tyres which are great in...

That is wonderful idea, as I hate to discard things. Thank you!

    Range Rover Classic restoration project

Hi all, this is my laundry list for the things to do with my Range Rover Classic. I would like to know if you would have suggestions of your own. Problem 1. The ceiling canvas is gone, I ripped it off a long time ago, and I would like to find a good solution, insulating from heat and cold...

Sit rep for a P38A restoration project

    1) if the CD changer works once, it should work again:confused: But you never know, may be dead. I will try to check this out. Do you know just in case where I can get it repaired or replaced? eBay? But who says that a used model is going to work better? 2) if the display is actually...

Sit rep for a P38A restoration project

Okay, I got her beautifully running now, but there are still some nagging points, albeit rather secondary ones: 1. CD-Changer (I posted on this topic earlier on). After trying several things, always without results - CD looking dead, I pulled out the radio and found out that the connector to...

    New Tyres

The Nexen tyres get good results in Germany with a solid 2.0. (Gut).

    New Tyres

Check out Nokian, too. I did not know them until I saw so many of them on the road in Russia. Finland stuff, very good on snow and ice. I saw Volvo XC having them in France. But again, have a look at ADAC tests at Test- und Verbraucherinformation bei Testberichte.de. The brand is not always...

Connector schematics PRC 9033 CD Changer

Fantastic! Thank you. It means that the "No Pack" would be the cassette player, and that it is not the CD player. It would mean that it does NOT even detect the CD player and in that case that it is either defective or not connected.

Connector schematics PRC 9033 CD Changer

Hi! I need to check if the connector is working (no rust, not bent pins) and if there is some juice at all on it, but it is a delicated business and I would love to know what pins do what exactly. By the way, it would be great to know if someone attempted to dismount the whole set of...

    New Tyres

I am absolutely delighted with the COntinental Crosscontact Lx 2. They are just perfect, silent, absolute no resistance to rolling, no vibrations, and they received top notch reviews by German ADAC and Russian auto magazines. The best so far, better than Michelin by all means as I used Michelin...

    Problem with garage (in France)

Yes, this is true. The south of Mayenne near Angers is a rather pretentious lot, no 2 CV, R11 anymore around here. And the properties, Mayenne is the largest concentration of still privately owned Chateaux, with over 500 of them, but rather older families with histories going back to middle age...
