I have made a bracket that sits behind the spare wheel on the back door. I found that I just ripped the other mounts off.
The bottom half of the ariel is protected and the top whip is above body level.

:) I had the same problem when i went into deep water. water went down vent and into the heater.
The instance i turned on the blower, windscreen misted up.
solution was to feed a piece of fish tank tube into the fan area from the vent on the front wing and syphone the water out.

check circlips on half shafts first, mine displayed same vibration and the circlip had come off and the whole shaft moved,new circlip and all is well.

There are two types, one with the bendy arm and one that has just an adjustable screw for cameras that is rock solid on the dash.
Clamp mine in middle of dash in open ash tray drawer and the underside of dash.

I have a 110 300tdi, as i was driving, without warning it died. i found that it was the turbo pipe inner sleeve breaking away. I took the pipe off and it ran fine.

As Griffdowg says, put the disk back on the wheel using the road nuts to secure it. I put something soft beneath the disc and drop the tyre onto the floor, i use the weight of the tyre along with the disc being bolted to the tyre to separate the two.
