Thanks all, forgot to mention, only happens on overrun. Gone as soon as you put any power down. Also makes the same noise when you roll in neutral or in gear. It kind of progressively got worse over time

Well as suspected it was a dodgy earth. Funny thing is that when I reconnected the handbrake she started no bother. Is this safe? I'm not going to get an electric shock touching the seat box or anything? Have left it as is for now anyway so I could focus on getting everything running right...

I have the negative earth from the battery bolted to the back of the transfer box. This was how it was when I dismantled. Am I missing something else? Thanks for the help by the way.

Sell the 90 and buy a 110 CSW. I have 5 kids and never have a problem getting them in and out. My last car was a TD5 Disco and cost more in repairs over 2 years than my 110 cost to buy!

Currently a large pile of bolts that I don't know where they go, propshaft that need rebuilt and tools that need cleaned. Will get some for you soon though :D

So after going up and down with the hoist for the last two days I'm well and truly stuck. I've had the gearbox off for repairs, 200tdi & LT77. So now I have everything lined up again it will not slot in like it's meant to. I can either get the top or bottom bolts in but it won't go any further...
