had the same on my 200 tdi in jan,thought it was the manifold ,got louder over 3 weeks and turned out to be the head gasket gone right at the back of the head,no loss of power,no loss of water etc luckily a **** easy job on the 200 and only took a couple of hours .. hope its yr exhaust m8 wafty

you can get a seal kit but ya gotta take the box out to do it correctly,i got a second hand unit for £30 ,not had a prob since...btw,it is a mot fail if its bad. wafty

swapped my lt77 box (reverse gone) for the r380 .straight swap and no mods needed ,94 200 tdi disco . wafty

me m8 has just finished changing the boxes over..lt77 out ,r380 in..nothing needed to be changed exept the speedo drive..car drives perfect in all gears and ranges :) wafty

been told by ashcroft that i can use the r380 to replace the lt77,just need to change the bell houseing and dif lock lever :) wafty

after losing my reverse gear last week ive bought a second hand box+ transfer box etc for £150,collected it today ,when i got it back to me m8s workshop i noticed that revers gear is over to the right and back,on my disco it left n forward,m8 reckons it the right box ...any thoughts pls? 200...

had the battery light come on today and the rev counter stopped working,replaced the alternator but the bat light and rev counter still fooked...question is,what runs the rev counter on the disco 200 tdi...tia wafty

just put my 200 tdi disco in for its mot...i was ****tin em coz i thought it would fail miserably but to my supprise it wernt to bad. failed on 3 small bits of welding,one bulb out on rear number plate ,near side front lower axle swivel joint excessive play and power steering inop. steering...
