The instrument panel was also changed... And as far as my understanding... there is a difference in the input... Can the pulse from the wheel speed sensor work on the discovery 1 instrument panel?

Actually the only issue I've had thus far is getting the speedo to work... The driveshaft has been lengthened and shortened to suit and it drives.... Electrical is more or less sorted.

Good day all... I have a discovery 2 td5 that's had a conversion done to 300tdi,the engine is now 300 as is the transmission... The transfer case however is the original from the discovery 2... All the wiring is complete with the exception of the speed sensor. Can I install a discovery 1 speed...

Good day everyone.... I have a discovery 2 with a td5.... However due to the vast number of issues with the transmission and engine I've located a 300tdi engine and transmission(no transfer box) how much needs to be done to do such a conversion.... Thanks in advance

Good night all, problem solved.....apparantly the previous mechanic did some 'work' on the pump and interfered with the timing so was just a matter of finding the correct ip timing......Thanks all for the help.

Hi all.....update....timing rechecked, valve clearances good, fuel to pump good, pushrods good, injectors spraying good...........still not starting

did not disturb fuel system.....the only issue i had was getting the crank gear out as the previous mechanic used threadlocker on the crankshaft

i will slacken tomorrow and update further....anything else i should check?

as it is now i can get it to start but not idle

it did run well......the only thing i didnt mention is a camshaft and crankshaft front seal change.....after that the lift pump failed and has since then been replaced(the pump wasnt allowing diesel to come from the tank)

hi all........i recently started having a 'buck' while idling.....on checking the wire that suplies the fuel solenoid on the injector pump i found a small break in the shielding....the problem has since been resolved.....will update further.
