Just done mine for the MOT. I used Halfords Shock and Unlock. It's a combined penetrating fluid and a freezing agent that helps to unjam the threads. Nearside came off no problem off side banjo was well stuck finaly got it off with a little rounding of the nut.

Get the car number etched onto the lights at least you will recognised them when they come up on Ebay.

As said above D1 and D2 will take the same racks all dimensions are the same. However the D1 cross rails for the fixed bars will not fit the D2 as the ends are not the same fittings. jiginc

This is a new one. Is the 13,8 volts with the headlights on? The only other idea is some sort of earth problem. Check the main engine earth strap it may be high resistance. Try running a second earth wire to the headlights earth plus try a second earth to the dizzy case. jiginc

100% yes. D1 and D2 roofs are the same, as far as roof racks, ladder bars are concerned.

For the extra cost I found it better to change the whole damper. If the bush is shot then the damper must be on it's way out as well.

Only reason for the green stuff is it's better for very low temperatures like -20 C Having said that with the current low temperatures it may be worth having it in, but have never heard of any problems with ATF freezing. jiginc

You are looking for a brown socket/plug under each seat. Lefthand is Co255 and has a blue/grey wire this connects to the red wire to the cushion. Right hand side is C0253 a blue/brown wire again to the red wire of the cusion. The grounds are black. Sorry but I cannot copy the diagram from...

Mine is on an X plate but build date was 2000. I know they were building and storing the early ones as during a visit to Load Lane at about this time every available space seemed to be covered in stored Discovery 2's. jiginc
