2006 Land Rover Defender 110 - Power Steering Failed, something ‘sheered’ off !!

Disconnected the radio. Yep, keeps charge now. I don't use the radio as I use noise cancelling ear phones and listen to podcasts. Makes the defender a much nicer place to be !

2006 Land Rover Defender 110 - Power Steering Failed, something ‘sheered’ off !!

Had since new and no real problems as such. Done 196k in it and suddenly my power steering has failed. Local Land Rover garage had a look and said something had ‘sheered off’ from the power steering unit. It’s going in on the 18th. They also said NOT to drive it as I could cause other issues...

Concrete crusher got my keys and fob ! 2006 110.

I've got a 2006 Land Rover Defender 110. Had it since new, few little issues here and there, but nothing major... However, had a bit of an accident yesterday. Had a grab lorry in removing my rubble and my keys have fallen out of my pocket, into the rubble. I did have one of those tracker things...

Portable Car Starter Pack for 2006 Defender 110

Hi All, Over the past few weeks I've needed to get my 110 jump started a number of times. I know realise I need to get it into the garage as it's either the battery not being charged correctly - thus alternator or the battery not holding the charge or something more sinister... I turn the...

Defender 110 2006 Oil coming up through Difflock lever

Thanks James. If I get a hayes manual is this a DIY job ? I've work with cars before (when I was a kid) and I can refurb houses, so I've got a decent level of competency and a car load of tools... Alas, I don't think I will be using my Sthil Petrol Disc cutter for this one ! Paul...

Defender 110 2006 Oil coming up through Difflock lever

Hello... I am sorry I don't know too much about the mechanics of my car, I just abuse and use it... I did notice a while ago (when I got the car serviced) I had some oil dripping from the bottom of the gearbox thing (under the car), not a lot. I, as any good owner would do, ignored it...

Replace screws after removing rear seats

Any reason other than harder to remove, why I should not use Flange Head Rivets ? Flange Head Rivets 4.8 x 18mm Pack of 250 | Screwfix.com If I needed to remove I would have to drill them out. But I can't see myself removing them. Paul.

Replace screws after removing rear seats

Had not even thought about that... Makes perfect sense, not too sure how well they hold up to having "things" put on them and general wear and tear - i.e. popping out. Oh, it will also mean nice and easy to put the seats back in... Easy is good. Any suggested resellers ? Regards Paul.

Replace screws after removing rear seats

Hi, I've got a Defender 110 Station Wagon. Not the latest one, the one before. It's got essentially 9 seats. Well, they were taking up space. The set of four seats that are in the rear that face each other have been removed and their mounting brackets. Of course I now have a set of...

    chequer plate

Hi, I've got a '06 Defender 110 with a 2.8m patriot roof rack on it. Now, it's a pain in the arse getting up the rear to tie loads down at the front, thus a bonnet plate so I can trample around without worrying too much... I've got the 25mm CSK (I think) screws and nylon nuts (as it were)...
