Hi all, any ideas why it won't start? Checked for fault codes with a generic tester, none, We have diesel, had gone through purge process and have black smoke on cranking, sounds like one or two cylinders firing, good crank speed , etc but that's all.... It had been running fine and was driving...

If any one can point at anything less than - replace the alternator.... The battery picture, non charge light, popped on, the lights dimmed, the belt was ok, the engine didn't overheat and some worried minutes later after a re start all was fine - that was 2 weeks ago and all was fine until now...

We've changed the injector seals twice, very carefully and still get a litre of diesel in the oil within 100km. The head was supposedly tested when hot and did not leak. Cannot imagine any other way diessel is getting in? Can you? Any thoughts appreciated 1000 + for new head is too hard...

Long story short, new to us vehicle turns out to be pooring diesel into oil, Much engine worn badly, replacing crankshaft, 1 con rod, all shells, rings etc. Doing at arms length as car in Moscow and me in Estonia, Difficult to get head tested in Moscow, so praying that leak via injector...
