Now i do know that series landies aren't the most fuel efficient motors in the worl. but surely less than 11mpg is really really bad. any ideas on what could be happening??? also i just replaced the carb. cud this have any effects?????

is it just me being cursed with engones or ha anybody else with a series II had a prblem with fuel squirting from the carb when the engines is either not running or on the over run?

damn damn damn got a bit of a fuelage leakage coming from the throttle body on my IIA which will explain the very bad fuel consuption (bout 120 miles on a tank full). The fuel qill squirt out from the throttle spindle either when the enigine sin't running or when decellerating. Now is this a job...

Finally after ten minutes of inspection i found the root problem of the heavy lazy clutch on my series II. It was knackered. Problem easily solved. i went out and bought a new one.

Am i just bein ignorant to the fact. or will a winch be useless in the desert? if so wot would be best???

for my little trip which u may have read about. if not i'm going to Timbuktu. any ideas on the best tryes?? and also is a winch necessary? or just sand boards and a jack?? Any other kit advies wouldn't go a miss.

Just bought a 67 series IIA and decided for some silly idea to take it to Timbuktu and back. Haven't even driven it on the road as yet. Any help on preparation and kit that i might need to make this journey that little bit more bearable???????????
