Thank you, Nodge68. I agree about the garages. I have consulted three, and none of them could help. The EGR tube, I think, is the source of my issue, but the Actuator and Turbo will need to be calibrated again, as I doubt it was done correctly.
Mine is diesel, though. 😊 My problem is that I don't have easy access under the car. When I did, the fumes were too strong. It needs to be done by a competent mechanic in a workshop. Unfortunately, I have no access to a decent Landrover mechanic where I live. The Land Rover dealers are far too...
A muffled bang and a cabin full of exhaust
I have a 2010 Freelander 2. I started to get the smell of fumes when idling. This at first seemed a small issue BUT! My local garage investigated and told me I needed a new Turbo Actuator. Having done that, it didn’t stop the fumes, but I now had...
Hi, I have a Freelander 2, 2010. I regularly go to the Peak District and have had no problems with the handbrake on steep inclines even with my caravan in tow. However, the last time out the handbrake did not hold and I had a real problem trying to do a standing start on a steep incline. My...
If anyone is still interested, it has taken me nearly a year to find the solution to this conundrum. I have found that if I switch on all of my lights, before hooking up to the caravan, the lights go through a checking sequence. I am not sure if this is due to my Freelander wiring, the new hitch...
You have obviously not toured the countryside. I am currently heading for the North of Scotland. Walls and windows are far between. Thanks for the chat everyone. I shall persist in my attempts to repeat the event and let you know if I succeed.
A few weeks ago, I had hooked up to my caravan and switched on all my lights to check they were working. I walked to the back of the caravan and they were going through a sequence showing each set of lights one after another. I have no idea what I did to produce this result but it was a great...
Thank you all for your welcome and the suggestions. I am not looking for a bollocking so will transfer my questions to the Freelander section. I must admit, as a Land Rover virgin, I am impressed by and nervous about asking the experts on simple things like my key or glove box issues.
At 70 years old, I have achieved a lifetime ambition and purchased a Landrover. A Freelander 2, 2010. It is certainly not perfect but I am as happy as a kid in a toy shop. I do need some advice though.
1. Occasionally, my key beeps the horn when I try to lock the car. The single key I have...
