At 70 years old, I have achieved a lifetime ambition and purchased a Landrover. A Freelander 2, 2010. It is certainly not perfect but I am as happy as a kid in a toy shop. I do need some advice though.

1. Occasionally, my key beeps the horn when I try to lock the car. The single key I have is a bit 'worn' so I think I need a new one. Can I just replace the chip in another key fob? Any hints on that would be useful. Perhaps I should also consider getting another key so I suppose it means cloning the one I have or do I need to go back to Landrover?

2. Most of my travel will be on the road and I need to consider tyre life. However, I also need to pull my caravan on some very wet and boggy sites. What are the best tyres to optimise my requirements?

3. The glove compartment catch does not work. Do I need to strip the whole lid off to access the catch.and if so any hints?

Thank you in advance for any help offered. I am now off to have a play. Unfortunately the 'Landrover Experience' company near me is not doing too much due to the coronavirus. I will be its first customer when it restarts.

Wellcome to the lunyzone,
It’s worth asking anymore questions on the Freelander forum or some on here will give you a bollocking :)

Do all the interior lights come on and off as you open/close doors?
Could also be bonnet switch.

Hi enjoy you Landrover, as said above post your questions in the Freelander section that way more Freelander owners will view it and help

Thank you all for your welcome and the suggestions. I am not looking for a bollocking so will transfer my questions to the Freelander section. I must admit, as a Land Rover virgin, I am impressed by and nervous about asking the experts on simple things like my key or glove box issues.
