Well started at 10am and as far as last pic by 5pm Will get it finished off tomorrow, flipin Grinder give up up...so more expence..had to get a new one. Sides had gone a bit but arches are are good so will plate from arch to new floor. Looks better than it was!!! And a few tins of Hanerite...

Yeh, I know...I will have plenty of steel sheet (From boot and what already got) and got lots of welding wire!!!! My only enemy is time, not skills and not resorces LOL!

OK, up at crack of dawn, rip up new BODGED boot floor over t top of old rotton one...then rip out old metal wermed boot floor, weld in new one (propper job) back together and get over to garage before 2pm and MOT'd?? Thats the plan anyway....

New floor ordered...already started stripping...

Oh also now I've had a chance to drive it PROPPER, it drives well... Is the stearing wheel on multi splines or one of those hex things as its to cok when going in strieght line and I hate that!!!???

Fail, only on the boot foor....wish I'd have a propper look as the so called new one was yup, silconed in!!! Quite glad as it will be easier to remove... So with a new boot floor it will be MOT'd!!! Watch this space....as I strip out the boot....hope nothing else found....that my only worrie...

Yeh found it!!! Short to ground and gauge no move.... Does drivers door have to be shut??? Can't remember now if I had it open when shorting to earth......

I've let it warm up...hot air from vents but gauge still not moved....just need to know where the sender is....just can't find a single connector sender!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :)

There are only two sensors and both have two terminals...it does have air con so one for engine, one for a/c where is this single one then?? Even the hays manual does not show it...

Ok some of you will know from other post I'm getting my 19 year old Disco 1 ready for MOT...Until today I had only driven it into the garage, I've now driven it around the estate and it drives and pulls well...1st 2nd 3rd gears only so far...(not enough to get to 4th or 5th, its a manual) 1st...

Its basically ready for the MOT now...put rear carpet back, good hover and clean up....once I decide what to do with above...

OK this is what I'm on about...should I leave it as is, or seal and paint?? I'm in two minds....at least like this MOT man can see there's fresh metal above.... However I think it needs sealing as there's basically a cavity, water gets in only gonna make things worse...I don't know...what to do...

No clearly holed as can see the new metal above...brassed off and all the other welding I've done I'm happy with...whoever did it simply welded flat sheet over the entire boot floor above...so its solid but looks a right mess from below looking up. I'm thinking cut away what I can and TACK to...
