    Rock sliders-galv or powdercoat?

don't understand the whole concept of galving rock/tree sliders. if the 6mm steel eventually rots through after 20 years cos you can't be bothered to paint over any scuffs, then you only need to save up £5/year ready for some new ones.

    No air filter

I used to have a 1964 Cooper S with twin SUs and Ram Pipes (no filters). It was fine but I didn't ever drive it across Salisbury Plain on a warm dusty day.

    lrseries.com - beware

did all that. they said if i'm not happy send them back. there was no apology and said they were perfectly within their rights and they were complying with trading standards by sending an alternative part.

Thanks Garreth ------------------------------------------------------------------------- i haven't suggested that you are trying to "rob or palm off poor quality". simply that you have not sent the items as described. the description clearly says BEARMACH. i can verify that in my...

    Goodbye Lift Kit

ok thanks for the info - i'll keep my shox (i have some cones). i never did understand the need for extended bump stops, surely they would restrict articulation? i'll look into whether any disco springs are ok for the 90 rear. a full 90 hard top is just what i need :) what colour is it...

    Goodbye Lift Kit

Yes. Just jack it up and watch them fall out :) well nearly, you have to unbolt the spring retaining bolts/clamp. You may need some spring clamps if your springs are still quite feisty.

    Goodbye Lift Kit

Well just cos i only do green laning and not any extreme off road stuff. The standard 90 articulation is more that fine for this as green lanes are "roads" after all. The only advantage i can see is you are 2 inches higher when wading. The disadvantages are: Low overhanging trees damage...

    Goodbye Lift Kit

Well I have some new TD5 front springs and have just been out bid on the rears that I thought were mine. I really need enough to buy 2 new standard rear springs and a decent set of shocks. That's if the shocks I have are no good cos they're too long. The kit cost me 230 and has done less...

    Goodbye Lift Kit

I've eventually figured out that there aren't really any merits to lifting a 90 2" when using it for green laning. I have some original height springs to go back on, but does anyone know if I can retain the +2" shocks. Obviously they travel 2"s longer, but is the minimum length compromised...
