bought some Bearmach rear springs for my 90.

what did they send.......Britpart.

ffs.

now i have all the grief and cost sending them back.

where can i get desent springs? cant afford genuine.

Link to the product you ordered?

I have always found LRSeries very very helpful. A Rear crank seal for my S3 is not longer avaliable genuine, so i wanted to a bearmach one. LRSeries listed "Britpart/Bearmach" on there site, So i emailed them (At 10:30pm) and by 10:35pm they had responded saying no problem, they will make sure i get sent a bearmach one.

Now that is customer service!

BTW - Britpart springs are not bad, Some people swear by them. Must better than some of there products.

If you are still unhappy email them, they are helpful :)

Also, I ordered 4 Inlet and 4 Exhaust Valves. They sent me 5 Inlet and 3 Exhaust... Quick email later and they sent me a Exhaust valve, It arrived the next day and they told me to keep the Inlet one :)

Thanks Garreth

i haven't suggested that you are trying to "rob or palm off poor quality".

simply that you have not sent the items as described. the description clearly says BEARMACH.

i can verify that in my own personal experience i have bought Britpart items in that past and they have mainly been very poor in their quailty.

i feel when i contacted you be phone, instead of saying the Britpart springs were a better deal for you, you should have offerred to replace the springs for the correct items without any fuss.

Buying goods - your rights

When you buy goods from a shop, market stall, garage, etc, you enter into a contract, which is controlled by many laws including, the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended by the Sale and Supply of Goods Act 1994 and the Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002). The law gives you certain implied, or automatic, statutory rights, under this contract.
The Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) says that goods should be as follows:

Of a satisfactory quality
This means the goods must meet the standards that any reasonable person would expect, taking into account the description, the price and all other relevant information. In some circumstances, the retailer may be liable for any statement made by the manufacturer about the goods.
Satisfactory quality includes the appearance and finish of the goods, their safety and durability and whether they are free from defects (including minor faults).

Fit for the purpose made known to the seller
That goods of this type are generally sold. They must also be fit for any specific or particular purpose made known to the seller at the time of the agreement.

As described
Goods should correspond with any description applied to them.

I have ordered many times from LR Series and never had a problem, only damn thing is their freight costs are sometimes crazy, even if its by Royal Mail.

I had a similar experience with a.n.other landrover parts supplies.

I ordered a particular brand of low cost shock absorber (armstrong).
On the website, they were described as Armstrong and there was even a photo of a shock absorber next to an Armstrong box.

Opened the package - Britpart!!!

Called them up and was told that they were the same. (yea right!)
I complained that they had not sent out what I ordered, and that the parts I'd ordered had not been delivered.
They eventually located some Armstrong shocks and did a delivery/collection at their cost.

Why not call LRSeries and let them know they've sent out the "wrong" parts.
Explain that what you have is not what you ordered so can they please sort it out.
As it's their cockup, they should arrange for (and fund) the collection of the parts they incorrectly sent out to you.

If they refuse, tell them your next step will be to contact both trading standards and your credit card company.

Distance selling regs state that they must take them back without any reason within 14 days if you don't like them, and they have not been used/opened and are in a resellable condition.

This covers items you buy without actually seeing them

Also the trades descriptions act covers this as they have sent you an incorectly described part.

did all that. they said if i'm not happy send them back. there was no apology and said they were perfectly within their rights and they were complying with trading standards by sending an alternative part.

cancel the card payment and send them an email stating that if they haven't collected the goods within 30days at their own expense then you will dispose of the goods as you see fit.

As above, contact your credit card company and tell them that a company has sent you something you didn't order. They are also refusing to collect the items and will not refund you. And that they are saying they are within their rights to make you pay for returning the items.
Once the credit card company gets involved, I think you'll find the company in question suddenly starts playing ball :D
Losing their merchant account (or having it suspended pending an investigation by the CC company) will hopefully have a bit of an impact on their business and make them "see the error of their ways"

pah.....

thers nawt wrong wi LR series, have spoken to them an many ocasions and they have supplied a lot of my series builds,
BUT you do have to state what flavor parts you want , or as a replacement they send britpart, or bearmach,
just email them stating genuine or to the same value, i, v returned things no probs, or even had bits missing, they have sent them next day to complete the order,

iv always had good service from them , time after time and they come recomended, but as always some one will experience difficulties with a comany so i cant comment for everyone :)

good luck with your complaints
