personally i dont think discos are any more trouble than any other offering, there is just more of them around and there owners tend to get more involved with them so forums such as this are busy places because lets face it all motors go wrong you just get to hear about it more, with the landies...

i use the insa tryes product with the same pattern as at2 half the price last about 75% as well so good all round also the compund is softer so performance in the wet is slightly better paddock supply them £57=00 each. john:):)

i have a td5 registered in 2000, my question is when started from cold the throttle response is exellent very crisp sound from the engine but as the engine warms up the response seems to diminish i.e. a greater amount of throttle pressure is required for the same result, engine still runs fine...

indeed i did took it back as far as the clip on the cover fastening bracket blanked it there with a stainless no6 self tapper and some silicone sealent john:):)

heres an update, bit the bullet and did it this morning, the cap heads on the exhaust manifold end are 5mm, the bolts on the egr itself are 8mm, and the bolt that holds down the centre bracket is 13mm, all mine undid after the wd soaking and the td5alive kit fitted beautifully, took her over to...

we had a 300 auto for 8 years never a hint of a problem, serviced every 4000 miles on semi synthetic engine oil, was as good on the day it went as when we bought it, down side rust, then had a pajero great little motor but economy not its strong point, now back with a td5 so far so good totally...

having just got my disco 2 and getting used to its ways on start up from either hot or cold after starting there is a audible clonk not very loud from i would say the right rear of the engine bay any thoughts everything is fine and maybe they all do it john:):)

i am looking to get rid of as much back pressure as possible, so decat front pipe then probably remove the silencer and then exit from the side, anyone done this before, i did it on my pajero made a lovely sound and the turbo spooled so fast big big improvement. engineer:):)

being a marine engineer we come across these regularly they are expensive gut there simply is not an alternative especially to the heated models which remove all water from the fuel, filter is very easy to change no rebleeding etc. they come in various micron sizes for the filter my advice go...
