My td5 has just had an aircon failure simply stopped working turns out the pump clutch is not engaging fuses are all o.k. And relay is also functioning so any ideas much appreciated Engineer:):)

i did a fault code check on my 2000 td5 yesterday just to make sure no problems arising, then looked at the live data and the readout from the maf changes the voltage as you would expect but the kg/hr stays at zero, not sure what is going on, in static checks reading is 4.4 kg/hr any help much...

There defiantly is no reference to the series 2 disco being Covered only the later models so regrettably I withdraw my stated intention ,good luck to everyone else Engineer:):):

it would appear according to the above link that the fcr is not compatable with the td5 series 2 disco, if i am wrong good oh, if not have to think again. engineer:):)

the td5 is not as you might assume inherently troublesome, if you can get one with a good history this is a start, look around here to gauge the usual likely faults, mine is a 2000 model 60k when i bought it a year or so ago manual, around 30 mpg, and it is a shoot wagon so gets some use as...

i bought a disco2 about 6 months ago, 65000 on the clock, one owner, good nick but i thought the steering a little vague bearing in mind i have driven most of landrovers offerings so know what to expect ,so i adjusted the box as prescribed, seemed better but have had to do it again seems o.k...

just a thought dont forget one push drivers door, second push other doors, so two pushes to get all doors open, and sometimes mine needs a third push to open rear door. john:):)

i am sorry but you are wrong, the way it works is this, imagine a simple car jack of the hydraulic type it has a small piston to fill the large ram that lifts the car, if you have say a pump piston size that takes 20 strokes to make the jack move one inch, you then increase the size of the pump...

sorry to point out fitting a larger bore will make it harder to press not lighter simple case of less mechanical advantage john:):)

if you dont mind the hassle you can fit a small independent servo to the clutch i did one on an old series landy that i had fitted a big perkins diesel to years ago worked a treat. john

i have a 2000 td5, egr has been removed otherwise standard, my question is this, when i first start up cold the throttle response is spot on virtually no delay but as the engine warms the response gets slower till to me it is to slow particularly if you like as i to give it a blip as you change...
