Think i know the answer but just want other views,my disco is a problem to unlock with the remote after it has been left for a few days,after a short run everything is fine my thoughts are the battery is slowly dying and after a few days the voltage drops a bit hence the less than instant...

The problem with just chipping an auto is indeed more power but that just leads to even more revs ,what is needed is the uprated ashcroft torque converter that transferes more off the available power at lower revs then get it chipped. Engineer

i have a d2 td5 200 vintage and got a feeling the flap that controls the flow of air through the heater matrix when heat is required or closes it of when cooling is required is not operational, heat is no problem but when cooling is required cant get it cool even with the aircon, which is fine...

My current truck is a 2000 td5 previously had a 300 tdi frankly there is no comparison far better body, chassis can be a problem but with good manitenace isnt a problem, mine is mapped by dynachip and in three years has had a clutch including dm flywheel as a precaution, rear propshaft coupling...

*Intercooler choice plus other ?s Going to fit an uprated intercooler to my 2000 td5 with air con what are your recommendations,plus at the same time going to replace the aircon drier which has seen better days again help sourcing appreciated,lastly a heavy duty bumper no winch got a few ideas...

Decided to stay with the green oval keep my manual for a while yet may eventually go for an auto if i can find one with the ashcroft upgraded torque converter. Engineer:):)

As has been said td5 great tow truck towed a large ifor williams with a john deere 10/20 complete with selectatilth howard 6 foot rorovator probably over the top weight wise but the air suspension keeps the back up and no dramas so sounds like the van is the cause. Engineer:):)

We use the disco around farms riding schools logging etc. so no great mud plugging but offroading capability a must also towing fairly large ifor williams. Engineer:):)

As above i am thinking after many many years of the green oval ownership evrything from 1949 series 1 to my td5 disco question is i am being drawn to a bmw x5 basically as i am getting older fixing faults is less attractive,however my budget including what i might get for my disco is around 7000...

Bit the bullet over the weekend got the front of to sort the aircon leak usual place clip on the bulkhead with the foam round it,plus got out the inter cooler for a good clean out suprising the amount of carbon and black sludge the solvent dispersed,plus greased all the chassis bits you cant see...
