Hey Guys, Has anybody replaced the altenator / water pump drive belt tensioner pulley bearing on a TDI300 engine? How easy is to get the pulley off and how easy is to then get the bearing out? Mine sounds like a cat with it's tail wrapped round it!! :eek: Either that or it's the water pump...

My son is 20, he pays £3100.00 fully comp on his 56 plate VW Passat. He is desperate to get a landy like mine but the quotes are not much cheaper than this!!

Finaly got to try low range in my defender 90, Found a nice green lane over corney fell, west lakes, But I found if I eased of the power the transfer lever kept jumping into neutral, This was a bit disconcerning when going downhill and the vehicle coasted away, A quick push on the transfer lever...

My other thought, (and this was a serious one) was to weld a 4 inch bar sharpened to a point to a steel plate that I could sit upon the drivers seat and lock into place, But I havn't figured out how to lock it to the seat!

I was thinking of taking up one flagstone, Digging down say 2 feet dropping a really heavy chain in the middle and fill it with concrete! It's just where to lock the other end to?

Thanks, It already takes me 5 miniutes to lock it up, Steering wheel bar, clutch and brake pedal claw lock, Bloody great chain through the steering wheel and round the pedals, Handbrake lock & alarm. Now going to add fuel cut off switch and battery isolator! Sh1t scared of my 90 being nicked...

Am I correct in thinking that if I fit a hidden switch to the white cable that goes to the soleniod on the injector pump this will stop the engine starting? And if somebody tried to start the engine with the solenoid feed turned off would it damage the injector pump? Or does anybody have any...

I keep my 2" thick steering wheel lock on the pasenger seat, just in case landy robber trys to hyjack me! I would take great pleasure in trying to lock it around his face!

Hey guys, Anybody running Insa Turbo Sahara's,(235/85/16) I fitted my wheels,(look great) But they arrived at 37psi, I have dropped them all to 28psi and the ride is much less hard, but what should they be?:rolleyes:

Hey DGFS, Nice looking Landy, Noticed you have what looks like Insa Turbo Saharas? What do you think of them? I have just recievd a set but have not fitted them yet, How do you find them on tarmac? Especialy when wet! Thanks.

I ordered Insa Dakar's the wheels arrived today but they are not Dakar's they are Insa Sahars's, They Look good but should I keep them or send them back? My main questions are what are they like on tarmac for noise and handling in the wet? How do they compare to Dakar's ?:confused: Any thoughts...
