Finaly got to try low range in my defender 90, Found a nice green lane over corney fell, west lakes, But I found if I eased of the power the transfer lever kept jumping into neutral, This was a bit disconcerning when going downhill and the vehicle coasted away, A quick push on the transfer lever and she'd jump back in, But if I eased off the power again she'd jump out again.
Does anybody have any experience of this and is there an easy fix?

Sounds like you haven't got it engaged properly. Try this. Stop and put the main box in neutral. Select low with the litle gearstick. Then put the main box into gear and hold a bit of pressure on the transfer box lever while gently allowing the clutch to bite slightly. You should feel the transfer box clunk solidly into gear and all should be well. Sounds like a bit of a pain but it's actually what LR recommend.

Thanks, I'll try that, Was so used to part time 4wd on my shogun sport, Not used to my 90 yet!

You may need to ajust the linkage. The arm on top of the gear box that linkes to the transfer box is on splines. Pop it off and slot it on a spline or two in which ever way gives low range more movment. Mine did esactly as you are describing last year, and that was the problem.

Having that prob myself, tried moving it over a spline or two and that made it better but it still pops out so for now the missus just holds it in place with her boot.

I'm going to have a nother go at it but this time adjust the rod length that goes down by your left knee if you are sat in the drivers seat, there is an adjustment there with a couple of nuts...

Missus in my Landy?
You must be joking, The one and only time she came out with me it was raining and she pi**ed herself laughing when I put the wipers on! Something about "limp" She said??
Well that was it, No more wifey in my Landy, Ever!!
I'd rather rig up a bungie to hold me stick in low!!
