Mudflaps - in front of rear wheel

I wonder if someone could tell me the part number for the mudflaps that are fitted in front of the rear wheel. I think these actually are for protecting SLS... Recently fitted side steps and fitting guide showed that you had to trim these to fit to the step brackets, but my car does not have...

    Window frame removal

So I took the window frame and glass out, fitted new channel run and put all back together. The when reattaching glass I noticed one of the white nylon wheels had shattered and now the window goes up ok but there is a bang and a wobble before it comes down. Also one of the x arms is a bit bent...

    Window frame removal

thank you - I had found this excellent post but don't want to take the glass out if I don't have to. Just wondered if anyone had taken the window frame out but left the glass in place...

    Window frame removal

I need to remove the driver's side window frame on my D2 to replace the channel run. Can I do so without removing the actual glass, if I am careful? Assume the frame once the bolts have been removed will just slide out over the glass, and I then can slide back after fitting new channel run...

    Window channel seal

I fear I might have to remove the window to fit this on further inspection - wonder if anyone else has fitted one of these?

    Window channel seal

so I have bought a new channel run seal thing (CFE100320) - am I correct in assuming that this is particularly easy to fit - just open window, pull out old one, squeeze new one in channel and feed down sides of window frame? Ta

    Discovery Horn Button spring

Does anyone have a horn button spring (or even the right hand button and spring) for a Discovery II that they would be willing to part with? Button works but is a bit stuck in so no need to replace whole unit.. TVM!

    Rear pinion bearing play

saw you gave that advice to someone else, so also ordered Timken for inner. Hope that we can sneak the outer one out without having to dismantle the diff, and that sorts the problem.

    Rear pinion bearing play

thank you - new outer bearing (Timken) arrived yesterday so will replace that and see how it is looking. New inner bearing on order if also required.

    Rear pinion bearing play

James, I noticed on another forum that someone suggested that the front bearing can come forwards when you remove the flange and that explains the movement in the pinion. Does this make sense to you? He suggested replacing the flange, tightening back up and seeing if the play has gone. There...

    Rear pinion bearing play

So effectively a large washer and replacing that could solve the problem? If you wanted to just replace the outer bearing, can this be done without dismantling the diff?

    Rear pinion bearing play

and that's where you lose me - not exactly sure where/what the shim does and goes! Can't seem to find the right info in the Rave manual either. Is there a diagram of the diff or a guide you are aware of to assist?

    Rear pinion bearing play

thanks James - I assume there should be no play there at all?

    Rear pinion bearing play

Was under the Disco (2003 TD5) the other day replacing the XYZ switch, so we took the opportunity to replace the diff pinion seals as there was a slight leak from each. The front was straightforward, and after my mate made a puller to remove the pinion flange, the rear was not a problem either...

    M and S lights

Has anyone fitted a new XYZ switch without the special tool? There will be two of us doing this - is it straightforward? Rave says you need to be in Park to remove the switch and in Neutral to fit new one - why not just be in Neutral to remove as well?
