    MAKE MY MIND UP

Check for rust on the rear subframe, and rear door openings near the wheel arch. Also it should be 2 years away from it's second timing belt change. 118k miles is nothing for these, providing all the maintenance is up to date.

What have you done to your Freelander today

The flat hose is the PS return line, and yes they are flat. I believe the flat hose is some form of crude noise reduction system, there the hose can absorb noise from the pump or rack. Don't worry about it, unless it starts leaking.

There is lots that can be done to make transportation of less able passengers easier.

    MAKE MY MIND UP

I left the LR monastery last summer. No nothing maiden and goat related. The electric car is great. Was definitely worth the move to a difference fuel type.

    MAKE MY MIND UP

Both FL2s were sold because we went electric for our family car. Nothing from a FL2 will fit an FL1, as they are completely different vehicles which share the Freelander name, and the bag hooks in the boot.

Then check the fuse, and current draw through the fuse.

Freelander 1 1.8 petrol start the cuts out

I already asked that question in one of the OP's multiple threads on the same subject.

    MAKE MY MIND UP

I wouldn't say the FL2 is trouble, at least no more trouble than any other modern car, and it doesn't have wet belts to fail, like lots of modern vehicles. The main issues are rear diffs, which should be fixed on a used example anyway, the Haldex, which again can be fixed, and the DPF on 2011...

    Freelander 2 drivers door.

Check the numbers on the door module. If they're the same ), then it should be plug n play

What have you done to your Freelander today

Looking good. That's what I'd have done with it if I had kept it longer.

    MAKE MY MIND UP

The Freelander 2 is generally considered more reliable than an Evoque, which is odd considered they're very similar vehicles.

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

In Fraddon, it was parked up near where a mobile LR repair chap lives.

If the U joints are new, did you center them correctly, to make sure they are free?

    DAB Radio

No it's not that easy. If your current radio has a DAB legend on the button, then it is capable of decoding the DAB signal. However that's where it gets complicated, as none of the DAB receiving equipment is fitted, neither is the wiring. Retrofitting DAB has been done, but it's a lot of...

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

It didn't have the usual exhausts sticking out the back, each side of the spare wheel, so I'm pretty sure it didn't have an engine. Hopefully I'll see it again, as I'd like to know more about it.

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

Off the Freelander EV topic, but keeping with electric LRs. Today I saw a D3 which was sporting a "Fully Electric" sticker across the rear window. Unfortunately the owner wasn't about to chat too, but if a D3 can be electrified, then I'm pretty sure the FL2 can be.

    Freelander 1 Locking wheel nut

Most tyre fitters or garages can remove lockers in a few seconds. Simply buy 5 replacement standard nuts. You can't replace studs with European style bolts, as there's no threads in the hub flange to screw bolts into.

Cruise control freelander 1 manual gearbox

Translation to English. Unfortunately it's not possible add cruise control to a manual transmission freelander 1, as the automatic gearbox control module (TCM), acts as the interface between the cruise control ECM and engine ECU. Without the TCM relaying the data between the CC module and ECM...

    Freelander 1 Freelander EV

I've been keeping an eye on battery and motor prices, and yes they have fallen massively. The problem with converting an FL2, is the massive amount of software integration that exists in the vehicle. It's quite a daunting proposition, but definitely worth thinking about. My wife knows enough...
