    Temporary drive loss

Checked the transmissonn fluid level. It was OK - fluid came out when I removed the filler plug therefore couldnt put any in. Tried disconmnecting the MAF. Because without MAF it was lumpy on low revs I couldnt really say if it was better when setting off, definitely no worse though. Any...

    Temporary drive loss

Ita a 4.0 petrol. When it happens if I push accelerator to floor nothing happens. It doesn't rev up nor does it drive. Can't really work out what is nhappening but it feels more like loss of drive to begin with?

    Temporary drive loss

In the morning my P38 starts fine and sounds ok. Reverses off drive OK. I then have to go up a steep hill. There is a temporary loss of drive when I hit the gas. Lasts for about 15 seconds then all seems ok. Doesnt happen again unless been parked up all day. Any ideas what this could be - I...

    Zenith Carburettor

Thanks guys, My landy ticks over smoothly when warm although the idle adjust screw is fully turned in to achieve this! When I accelerate up hill with any sort of load there is a severe power loss. Some time ago I fitted a carb refurb kit (due to a stalling problem) cured the stalling but I...

    Zenith Carburettor

Why did you put the Weber back on... Thought the Zenith was supposed to perform better, albeit less fuel efficient. If not, where can I get a Weber servicr kit?

    P38 cutting out!

When I first broke down the RSC chap thought it was a fuel problem. When it stalled the fuel was up to pressure so couldn't hear the fuel pump. When it had been standing for a while and I turned the ignition I could hear the fuel pump for a few seconds. Fortunately I didnt change the pump! When...

    p38 v8 cutting out

I recently has same stalling problems. No relevant error codes recorded. Main dealer found nothing and asked be to take it away!! Turned out to be crank sensor. There only about £30 plus a couple of hours labour... If it's the crank sensor you will find that when it wont start there will be...

    P38 cutting out!

TY, I recently had a problem with engine stalling and would not re-start. Leave it for about 35mins and it would start OK. Would run for a while then stall again. Got error codes implying voltage errors but it turned out to be a failing crank sensor. They are not expensive, about £30. Since it...

    Fuel Pump??

Hi Jamiehol, You were right. Crank sensor changed a week ago and it's ben fine since. The sensors are only about £30 and a few hours fitting... I'm so glad I didn't act on RAC advice and stick a new fuel pump in... Turns out that the crank sensor is about the most important sensor on...

    Fuel Pump??

Thanks Guys, Are you saying a crank sensor failure could cause the fuel and electrics to shut down rather than it be an immobiliser fault? God i'm so pi--ed of with it. I try my best but I am not sure I have the competence to be a P38 owner... Thanks, Steve
