    dash power issues

Hi all. I seem to be having a problem with what I suspect is a bad earth. My dash lights stay off till the car is warm then come on. Not a problem normally but it's knocking out my rear lights. I think it's an earth problem on my sidelights. Can anybody shed any light on the problem at all. It's...

    steering wanders

An adjustment on the box went a long way to curing the wandering. I also had a lower ball joint needing replaced as well. The car still tracks a bit as I change lanes but I'm putting that down to tyres which will get changed in due course. Bit of closure on this one and thanks to all that...

    steering wanders

Thanks for the advice Discool. The general opinion seems to be bushes. Panhard rod bushes and possibly the radius arm or it's equivalent. So it's going off the road for a full rebush. Going to go for original bushes all round not poly. A full set of shocks as I can't say when they were last...

    steering wanders

Its pretty much box standard. My son is in a band so it only gets used as a crew bus on the odd occasion so it doesn't get driven much and I was unaware there was an issue. I came home from Sierra Leone to a " that thing is a death trap and I wont be driving it " speech. On the day in question...

    odd ball fault

Hi all my 1999 Disc Td5 has started misbehaving. I was heading up the drive after a 45 minute drive, dipped the clutch to park her and she revved up to 2500 rpm or there abouts then went back to tick over. I do have a fault with fuse #2 blowing. I know that fuse deals with the MAF circuit. Could...

    steering wanders

Articfox the Ball joints and wheel bearings were my first thought as well. They're all done. The box was my next thought, as it will be jacked up to change onto my road tyres at the weekend I will check, adjust and send the wife out for a high speed test drive ;-)

    steering wanders

Thanks for the replies. I will do a search for box adjustment and reduce the front tyre pressures. As for selling her I can't as it's now the wife's full time driver and I have told her it's a speed issue and the best way to cure it is to keep driving it only faster ;-)

    steering wanders

Got an issue with my 1999 Disco Td5, its wandering. If I go above 60 it feels like I am driving a shopping trolley to be honest. Tyre pressures are good 35 on the front 38 on the back, I have mud and snows on just now, my road tyres are going back on at the weekend just to rule out any tyre...

    Rear hydraulic hoses. Help needed

I have been using ATF in my ACE for about 3 yrs now with no problems at all (as it drains over a 2 week period). I have managed to source a stainless steel kit from here and a coil of soft 10mm copper brake line to redo the front end.

    Another air con issue

could be a wonky pressure switch . Listen to the compressor as it is switched on and off .You should be able to hear the clutch pack kicking in and out. If no click then find the pressure switches but dont just unscrew as the gas and oil will fly out, or if you are sure the pressure is ok then...

Discovery 2 td5 air conditioning help

Dont know who you took your Disco to but they should have pressure tested the system to find out why you had no pressure in the first place. When you replace the parts that have failed you need to get a pressure test,if it holds the test then you need to get the system evacuated with a vacuum...

    Airbag air lines

Hi Paul thanks for the reply.I thought that as the idea is similar to the plumbing connectors . The collar pushes in but the pipe aint for coming out  will end up cutting it me thinks

Make sure the floating parts of your caliper are free as well.Thats the rods on the caliper carrier with the gaitors on that the hydraulic part bolts into .I had one siezed and one free which caused the caliper to rock slightly. It felt like a warped disc.
