Pic request: anyone got 245/75/16's on standard height suspension?

Hmm that's very tempting then! Ideally if i fitted 275's I'd want to lift it by an inch rather than two - but I can't find much in the way of one inch lifts. Bearmach make 20 and 300mm HD front spring but I can't find the equivalent spacers for the airbags on the back :(. Might have to buy 40mm...

    Options for 25mm lift?

Hi guys, I've been looking for 25mm lift spacers or springs and haven't found much. I think that I could run 265/75 with a 1" lift without problems and it won't feck up the steering or anything. Does anyone do a kit? Ta, Will.

No rubbing on full lock in the car park or during articulation off road? Looks great mate :).

I'm going to fit standard springs for now, I'm hoping that doing that and fitting new shocks will improve the ride a bit. I don't drive all that fast so wallowing doesn't tend to be a problem, plus I think the air suspension helps on that count too :). Wonderful car to drive around though...

Yeh I'm hoping that with the 245/75 KM2's and +2 shocks it'll be a great laner even wihtout lift but still civilised on the road :).

Clutch and gear change issues - hope it's not a new box job!

Did it fix it then :)? Apart from the clutch pushrod, is there any other part that would be worth replacing while I'm in there? Jut bought myself an alignment tool just to be safe ;).

Interesting, did you have to do anyhting about castor and such? Or did it not affect the handling? The cost of the 2" lift castor corrected arms, brake hoses, spacers and shocks is pretty high! I was thinking of putting 1" spacers under the springs and airbags, as I don't think that'd be...

Found a good one, looks pretty good to me. I know that's a D1 but it'll be similar. With +2 shocks there'll be a little extra articulation, even if I don't lift it :).

Hey guys, The cost of lifting my D2 by 2" and then shooeing it with 265/75/16 KM2's is absolutely eye watering and I can't make up my mind if it's OTT or not. In some photos it looks nice and in others it looks a bit naff and way overkill for a greenlaner. I read that 245/75 is a nice...

Freelander 1.8 K series hgf - more data

Get one of the early rover L series diesels, they are completely bombproof. If you make sure the transmission is sorted they are as relaible as Hippo's get. The Bimmer TD4 is great but expensive to fix if it breaks. The 1.8 is a piece of **** to work on though, and parts are cheap if it does...

Clutch and gear change issues - hope it's not a new box job!

It made a massive difference to my Freelander's gearbox, with the new clutch and an oil change I'm hoping it will be nice and smooth :). However I naffed a tyre this morning on a fecking wood screw in the road :(. Had to put on one of my spare 16" wheels with a **** tyre on it as a spare - hope...

Cheers :). Oh and James, any reccomendation on which oil to fill it with? Lots of talk about Evo 1 and Redline MTL but those seem hard to get and expensive. But I'll pay more if they really do improve it.

Is this the right part? Slave Cylinder Push Rod - Genuine Land Rover at www.rimmerbros.co.uk Good idea :).

Clutch and gear change issues - hope it's not a new box job!

Hi guys, I've already bought a new clutch and DMF for my TD5, but I'm still unsure about the gearbox. The clutch pedal is really heavy, and sometimes when I go from neutral into first while stationary I get a crunch - surely this should not be happening if the clutch is disengaged? Well thats...

Freelander 1.8 K series hgf - more data

Bell sell them for about £250. If you don't have one to exchange then it's another £100 on top or something. They cut them open and renew the viscous fluid (and lots more too I expect) and then very neatly weld them back up and do a damn good job of it too. Not point in buying a brand new one...

Freelander 1.8 K series hgf - more data

The only really trusted VCU's come from Feelander Specialist and Bell Engineering - many ebay ones are total bollix. Very easy to fit yourself.

Read Trewey's lift thread, now baffled as to where to find the stuff.

Ok I've searched and couldn't find what I needed in relation to the D2 only D1. Many apologies if I've missed summat obvious :(. If I fit 265/75/16's without a lift, will they rub anywhere?

Yeh you may have a good one, not all of them went bang especially after 2001. Just keep an eye on coolant levels and check your heater is working at least once a week - an airlock in the heater (thus no warm air) is a strong sign that the HG is leaking exhaust gas into the coolant. But yours...
