Hi guys,

I've been looking for 25mm lift spacers or springs and haven't found much. I think that I could run 265/75 with a 1" lift without problems and it won't feck up the steering or anything. Does anyone do a kit?

Ta,

Will.

I ran 265/75x16s for a week with std suspension and apart from having to adjust the steering lock bumpstops it was fine. I never took it off road though, so it didn't have any axle articulation to deal with. TBH if you're going to do a lift, then I'd go with the standard 40-50mm rather than just a 25mm lift. You'll still need to fit extended brakelines, so why not get the benefit of the extra clearance?

265s on std height suspension:

The steering is fine with a +40mm lift BTW. No behaviour issues or accelerated wear ;)

It's the castor correction arms that put me off, £250 for something that I'm not sure makes any difference. But if you really haven't had any issues then that does make me more confident. What springs did you use on the front?

Don't need the correction arms for 2in lift. Probably would for 3in and over but not for 2in.

I've got OME 'light duty' +40mm on the front and OME 'medium duty' +40mm on the rear as the missus doesn't believe in travelling light when camping! :D Bear in mind that even the light duty springs are upgraded over std LR spec coils. When travelling empty, the ride is definitely on the firm side even with the tent and rack permanently mounted.

If you don't carry a lot about on a daily basis, I'd suggest the light duty springs all round would be fine for you, but have a word with Devon4x4 - they were very helpful when I was looking to get mine.

NB If you do fit a 40-50mm lift, you *may* need to fit a pair of crossmember spacers to drop the crossmember down an inch or so - the prop can catch on it otherwise. I say 'may' as some people seem to need them, while others don't - I haven't got them fitted and haven't had any problems whatsoever, however I don't do any serious offroading, just the occasional greenlane so axle articulation has been minimal if I'm honest. You will need shocks that are capable of the extra extension too - I've got TerraFirma ones on my D2, the ones that are suited to std to +50mm. And as I mentioned earlier, you'll need longer brake lines. I fitted Goodridge braided hoses simply because I've used them on previous vehicles.

Cheers for that, I had planned on fitting those parts if was going to fit 40mm lift :). I'd like front spings that are more or less standard softness but with the 40mm lift - if such a thing is possible! If I do load it up I've got the air suspension on the back. Ideally I'd like to maintain ride quality.

In that case I'd just get some genuine LR springs - see if you can get any discount via club/forum membership as they're not cheap - I paid around £70 each for genuine springs about 2.5 years ago...

I've just bought some std spec springs for my D1, but that won't be back on the road until the spring most likely so I can't give you any feedback of them sorry.

Hopefully others will be able to add their experiences with various brands?

Spacers under the air bags and light duty +2 springs on the front, with +2 shocks all round sounds like your best bet to me.

With extended brake lines obviously.

Yeh I was looking for some aftermarket standard springs and they do have them but I have no idea what brand they are. Don't want to end up with ****part nes.

+2 lift is a bit much for me, I don't really need it if I'm going for 245/75 - the pic you posted was good as yours looked just right and the one behind looked too high to me. I will fit +2 shocks and brake hoses though as I need new ones anyway and might as well fit Terrfirma.
