    Horns not working!

Right, that explains it then. I'll try connecting one of the main horns direct to tha battery, if it's shot, then I guess some new ones are required. thanks for your help.

    Horns not working!

Hi. Both horns will not work when using either of the switches on the steering wheel. I've checked both the fuse under the dash and also the one in the engine compartment, and both are ok. The horns however do work when the alarm goes off. Any ideas? Thanks.

    Fuel Feed Hose Internal Diameter

I have brought a fuel heater for my 2000 TD5 due to running it on Biodiesel which I have for the last few thousand miles. I want to intstall this just before the injector manifold, however, the connection from the hose to the manifold is of a special type and I can't determine the fuel hose...

    Running a disco 2 td5 on biodiesel

I've run my Disco 2 TD5 on and off of Biodiesel for a couple of months and clocked up about 2000 miles on it. Reading through posts its the viscosity of the oil that knackers up pumps and injectors. I've therefore fitted an electric fuel heater and add an anti waxing agent to my biodiesel. No...

    discovery td5 M and S light flashing?

Had this problem with mine....was told by a friend if the battery is giving out a good voltage, it could be the XYZ switch sticking. He told me to hold the auto gear stick button in and vigorously move it forwards and backwards a number of times. This sorted it and its been fine ever since :)

    veg oil

I've been running my year 2000 TD5 on 99% Biodiesel (There was a little diesel in the bottom of the tank) for 320 miles so far. Takes a few extra turn of the engine to start, but appears to run smoother and have more power, with no noticeable change in MPG.

    MPG TD5 T Reg Disco?

I have a year 2000 with 108K on the clock. I'm getting 22 mpg, but do have the added weight of a winch bumper, winch, tree sliders, and snorkel.

    xyz

Agree with robgeev. Cured mine by holding in the button on the gear lever and moving it vigorously backwards and forwards.

    TD5 on Biodiesel

Just to clarify, it would be biodiesel that I would use, not straight veg oil. I'm lead to believe the 200/300 TDI's run fine, but the TD5's may run into problems because of the viscosity of the biodiesel causes to much pressure on the independent pumps of each injector. Anybody else running...

    TD5 on Biodiesel

I know this has been discussed many times before and most comments are negative, with few positive comments, but I'm thinking of trying it with a few precautions! I understand that the oil is thicker, hence I intend on using a preheater upstream of the injectors, but downstream of the fuel...

2" lift - Spacers or Springs

Thanks for all the advice. Think I'll go for +2 inch HD Springs and new shocks on the front, with 2 inch spacers and original rear air springs on the back.

2" lift - Spacers or Springs

Hi. I'm looking at lifting my 2000 TD5 by 2". Should I use spacers or springs? Apart from spacers being the cheaper option, what are the advantages and disadvantages? What make should I use? And if I go for spacers, should I go for replacing the standard shocks and springs? The car has 102K on...

    diff lock linkage

Hi. This may help! I know you've got a TDI, but goolge "Discovery2". This guy has basically converted his disco 2 to have the same linkage/mechanism as the TDI (The TD5 done away with it as it has traction control). There's quite a few photo's. Hopefully it will just be a case of stripping it...

    Brakes pumping back!?!?!?

I perhaps would agree, but this started at exactly the same time when my front drivers side wheel bearing gave up. As I have now replaced the bearing, shoes and drums on the front end, it can only be something else. It's beyond me, so its now with a garage. Thanks for your help/ideas though.

    Brakes pumping back!?!?!?

Thanks for the info. I've got a bad feeling that I may have somehow damaged the front drivers side stub axle when the wheel bearing failed. The drums and shoes were replaced with new when I replaced the bearing. When I fitted the drivers side drum and shoes, it did bind a little then release in...

    Brakes pumping back!?!?!?

Think I've sussed how to put my free wheeling hubs back on, but now have another problem. Along with the drivers fornt wheel bearings I replaced the front drums and shoes. Took the 2A for a test drive and when I brake the pedal feels and though its pumping back at me (up and down). Any...
