where can i buy new general grabbers??

Dopey, The GG's are getting impossible to source. I switched to Toyo Open Country AT's. I can heartily recommend them so far. No tramlining, pretty good grip wet and dry and they're a good bit cheaper than the grabbers too. I've done over 5000 miles on them so far and they seem to be good for...

Bigger turbo for p38 dse ???

The definitive answer to that is in a thread on here somewhere a few months back. unfortunately I can't remember:confused: I'll try and search through my posts to find it. But if I was to guess, I don't think the 4 pin went in the DSE's at all and if they did it was rear axle only.

Bigger turbo for p38 dse ???

The standard turbo is more than capable of putting out all the boost you could want (or that the engine can take for that matter). Mine runs at 1.2bar above atmospheric (17psi, 120kpa) which is just at the top end of manufacturers recommendations. I've seen on faultmate Seanmuls put out...

2.5 diesel warm starting - I hesitate to raise this issue again, but....

I completely cured my starting problems back in January by adjusting the static timing of the pump. Mine took a lot of cranking when hot and if it was real cold needed two goes of the glow plugs to get it going. I mistakenly replaced the glow plugs with spurious ones and was blaming them for...

    Which Pirelli Scorpions?

After 4 years of Pirelli Scorpion S/T's and STR's, I've recently put on a full set of Toyo Open Country A/T. I'm well happy with them. No tramlining, good grip and they're supposed to have very good wear characteristics. I was generally happy with the Scorpion S/T's but wear wasn't great. The...

    replacement diesel engine for P38

Its a little less defined than that. The size of the FIP flange is a factor of the pump code yes. But many of the later TDS engines share the flange size with the RR. I would go so far as to say that any plastic manifold BMW engine will have the same flange size as the RR. A browse of BMW M51 on...

ect or egr? (or something else)

The Bosch pump on the P38 is supposed to be a perfect match for biodiesel. Its actually supposed to improve the running of a pump with wear on it. I'd be inclined to have a look at pump timing. The 'hot start' issue has often been mis diagnosed as a problem due to the glow plugs not coming...

    Air Suspension Issues

google the 'pigtail method air suspension' you should get a link to rangerovers.net. This will instruct you on how to operate each individual component of the system using pinouts from the ecu connector. I'm with wammers though as the only things that will stop a compressor are the pressure...

    P38 Removing front half shafts???

:D:D Laugh all you want but I'd wager he was a fair man on the sledge in his day!! The biggest problem would be keeping the bugger fed, dinner in the middle of the day and all that:p:p Don't knock it till you've tried it:D:D

Is this an Engine Oil Overfill??

I had a look at the manual in RAVE, there's a picture of the dipstick. It looked nothing like you :p:p I assume the one in RAVE is for the petrol but it looks exactly as you describe with the flights of a dart. With this there are two slots between which your oil level should be. If is above...

    P38 Removing front half shafts???

I swapped a diff last weekend. So that means I had double the work and as I was doing the bushings as well, I took the axle right off. That took me all the free time I had from Friday night through to 3am Monday morning (I've 3 kids under 5 so daylight free time at the week end is at a premium...

    P38 Removing front half shafts???

Yeah, remove the four bolts and pull out the half shaft with the hub. This is the bit that takes a bit of 'persuasion'. I used a scrap brake disk with wheel nuts holding it in place to sledge the hub out of the hub carrier. There are other methods but this one is quick.

    EAS "Wake up"

How do you make that out? Can't be any different than if you had a slow puncure in one wheel, it'd look odd for sure but dangerous? Only to ones pride in ones motor:p Also I can't see how it can self level without waking the BECM. The delay timer has cut power to the ecu so that has to be...

Hi Jarviea, Send me on an email address if you want photos. I dug it out of the shed. There was something rattling around in it so I opened it up. The magnet is broken off the back of the speaker cone. I hooked up to my own RRC to check if I could fix it. It works but its no good, huge...
