Am i pricing myself out of the market?

I think you've answered your own question here. You paid £630 for it without an MOT. Its still a P38 without an MOT, irrespective of what you done to it. A new windscreen is required which is an insurance job or loads of money and an abs light which is potentially loads more money. I don't wish...

What make of lpg kit to fit?

As long as you keep your cooling system in tip top condition LPG should not pose any extra threat to the longevity on a Thor engine, its just as likely to go bang whether on Petrol or LPG:D Apart from the coldest winter days I can start my Classic on LPG but it is a single point system so is...

    Anyone Fancy A Pub Meet??

Thanks for organizing this afternoon Dopey. Shame I couldn't stay a bit longer. Just back from the gig and the back stage party. Must be getting too old for all this rock and roll because rather than rub shoulders with the pop stars just wanted to get home to me bed!!!

What make of radio was fitted to 1999 P38

I agree with most of the above, the alpine and clarion factory fitted kit do a more than adequate job. Sure if I through £5k at a new system I would see an improvement but that would be worth more than the car!!!

mpg down since new plugs fitted

Did it jump from 12 to 8 or did you reset the computer when you changed the plugs? If the latter I'm assuming a cold start so it would be running rich so about 8mpg would be normal. You probably need a good run and to get it up to temp to see real life figures.

Fitting Prinz LPG Next Week, Advice please

You can fit it yourself but to satisfy your insurance company you will have to have it inspected by a registered LPG place and assuming they find everything ok they will place it on the register. That usually costs between £100 and £150 depending on the garage. More if they find stuff not up to...

    Is There A Catch?

Same insurance company, same excess and everything. First time its gone down for a good few years.

    Suspension problems

Island 4x4 do a replacement compressor for about £160.00. Also worth pointing out that comes with new mounting rubbers and a new filter, still dearer than a rebuild but still good value in my book. As has been said new air springs are required. Standard springs are the cheapest and do the job...

    Is There A Catch?

For the first time in a long time my renewal quote is cheaper than last years insurance:) (with the same company) I reckon they must have been watching that More Than advert where they claim they can beat any renewal price. 2002 RR P38 4.6 Vogue SE. £280.00 with Sureterm.

    Anyone Fancy A Pub Meet??

I think I've got Saturday sorted. A long standing engagement, going to a gig at Shepards Bush Empire means I need to be away by 1630. Just when most people are rolling up!!! So I hope to be there by 1430 for a pint or 2. So probably won't get to meet most of you but also hope not to be a Billy...

    Might Interest some ................

We covered 2500 miles in 6 days and she didn't miss a beat. As for Norway, beautiful country but bloody expensive. Filled up 3 times in Norway, £135 the cheapest, £147 the dearest. Divided by 4 softened the blow but wouldn't fancy bringing the family and copping the lot. Beer in a hotel £11 a...

    What's it worth....

As the lighter nights are coming back and the snow premium falls off probably not as much as you would like. Diesel up near £1.50 a litre certainly doesn't help. In these impoverished times a 10 year old P38 is not the top of most peoples wanted list. Could get lucky privately and get a fair...

    Approved used 2006 TD6 SE

I think approved used now come with a full monty 12 month guarantee and main dealers will usually sort any issues because they will be paid by Land Rover. But this is usually built into the price because you will pay for the privilege with a main dealer car and pay over the odds. I've owned...

    Might Interest some ................

It helps only having to do 100 miles off the ferry at Dover. Wouldn't be quite so nice having to head up north after the trek to Calais. Also shared the driving with me old man so that was a big help. I looked into one of the freight ferries a few years ago. They wanted too much on that...

    Might Interest some ................

I'm just home from Norway. Got off the ferry at Hirtshals (Northern Denmark) at 0230 Hrs and got the 1630 sailing from Calais to Dover. A few stops on the way and lots of miles on no speed limit sections of the German autobahn helped. LPG at 55p/65p a litre available every where apart from...

T-Cut has a bad rep...but it does have its uses!

I don't think its T-Cut has gone bad. I just think there are products out there today that do a better job with less effort. I use menzerna polishes and a DA polisher and the results are fantastic. All sealed in with a quality carnuba wax and if I really want to spend all day outside to avoid...

    Blend Motors/Heater Temp Sensor?

Thanks one and all for the suggestions. Heading for Norway at midnight tonight so the only thing I can really check before we head off is the cabin temp sensor. At least it still gets to hot if we do hit some really cold weather. Diagnostics will have to wait until we're home. I have no book...

    Blend Motors/Heater Temp Sensor?

2002 P38. Did a 200 mile return journey to Loughborough at the weekend. On the way home outside temp dropped to 1 degree, climate set at 24 degrees both sides, started feeling chilly so turned up the heat in 1 degree stages with no noticeable difference, got to 28 degrees still not much more...

What make of lpg kit to fit?

Emer and Bigas (Italian) and Stag (Polish) systems are being fitted much more these days and can be fully fitted for approx £1100 to £1400. The Prins and BRC boys look down their noses at these systems a tad but LPG systems have come a long way and these systems seem to be holding up fine. And...
