Hi Guys, I got rid of the Disco with the Alarm issue, got another one which is much nicer but same year, spec etc.. 1997 ES 3.9V8I but the abs light has just started to come on and a few times now the ABS has actually kicked in while braking but there is no light on when this happens.. Only...

My fobs no longer work, nor does the fob that came with the eBay ECU, I can only lock the doors with the key in the door, when I lock / unlock the drivers door no other door will look / unlock, the whole central locking system is inoperative. Every now and then she won't start, the key symbol...

Would this be the same for a Disco 1 ? Anyways.... it immobilised again today so clearly I have not fixed it :( Stu

Using the eBay ecu has removed the immobilising problem, so I don't have to keep popping the bonnet 3 times a day to get started but still have no alarm, key fob or central locking... what is the next step? Assuming the old ecu was buggered and the new one works, why nothing else? Stu

Well my eBay ECU arrived today, stuck it in, pressed the fob.... you guessed it... nothing :mad: The ECU is not the same part but is the same frequency if that makes any difference. Is there a procedure in replacing this... please don't say press the fob four times.... If both these ECU are...

Just changed the spider box that I soldered the wires in for the official bypass part and still the same problem... So its got to be the ECU for the alarm, I will let you know how I get on. Cheers Stu

Any advice is welcome :) My ecu is AMR6250, I assume if I get a matching ecu with 2 fob key its a matter of plug and play ? Stu

Done this with no effect far too many times to remember :( Still thinking it has to be Alarm ECU at fault, gonna try eBay Stu

It seems that the problem is not the spider.... drove to work fine this morning but then 2 hours later the thing was imobilised again ! Took battery off for 5 mins, back on and fine again.... I am guessing the Alarm ECU is faulty ? still have no fob action or central locking ! Stu

Well I have taken out the spider, soldered in the wires and refitted. Initially no change, but disconnected the battery for 5 mins, stuck it back on and she fired up ! Alas I still don't have either fob working or central locking, I think something has gone wrong elsewhere, I have checked the...

Thanks for the original post, I only found it after doing the drivers spring today :( I did do it though without taking the glass out... I undid all the rods as required and took the bolts out, this releases the lock itself but you can't get it out from behind the window channel. What I did here...
