thanks for all the help and info guys problem sorted now took just half an hour.... captives were a bit loose but not as loose as i had thought (panicked) earlier.... found it very easy putting the donut on off the vehicle as explained in other threads but i also found it much easier putting it...

had a whirring sound coming from my v8 auto disco 1 this last week or so had a look round the transmission/propshafts for anything obvious and found the cause.... yes you guessed it prop weight has been ripped off and the silly rubber donut has deterioated....ordered the donut from paddocks...
