    Chassis rear rail replacement.

Well, I too have the D2 TD5 rear chassis rail maggot! Over previous years (for MOT) I have patched and stitched metal, as required. This year the maggot beast has eaten the best part of the NS chassis section, front of body outrigger. My question is, do I patch and tuck my way through another...

Avoid Buying Discovery 2's from Scotland

Hi I have had Disco 2 TD5 for the last three years, bought and ran in Aberdeenshire (that's Scotland). Had a Disco 300 for five years before that. Have to thank these motors for my ability to weld!! Yet, you have to have LR in your blood. Great fun and all round challenge. Can't wait for my...

    key fob case

Re: new key fob case. Just to mention that I have just bought a new fob, for £9.67 (incl £3.99 shipping) from Chequers Motor Store Ltd on Amazon. The fob comes with blank key which I discarded and fitted original electronics and key part in new fob. Pressed key on drivers side of LR Disco 2...

    Newbie advice please towing vehicle

Don't know much about the V8 versions but my TD5 I have had for 4 years, 300tdi before that. No problems towing a 3tonne trailer of sand/cement bricks etc. Towed a 2tonne caravan with any problems and, as already suggested, forgot it was on the back. Reasonable mpg too.

Today I removed the front Propshaft from my Discovery 2 TD5, after whining and chirping noises. I had thought of UJ's on drive shafts but replaced those last year. The front UJ on prop, I thought, required replacing as movement found in MOT (advisory-last month). When removed and began the...

Clicking noise prior to starting, 300tdi

Hi Chris Happy New Year. I can tell you that, in my experience, the noise (multiple clicking when turning over), has been the battery. I see you're planning a change in Feb but I think it would be my priority. Any other problem will be easier to diagnose if you are sure the battery is good...

Help needed! TD5 or 300TDI Disco

Hey Lewis I have had the 300TDi 4door, and used it for the very purpose you are wanting. It was amazing both in getting out to prep the decoys and in recovery of "lost" birds. I found it a better driving experience, better "feedback" through the wheel etc etc. I have had a TD5 (2001) for the...

Front wheel-sealed hub/bearing clean out? ABS.

Well, what can I say? Good advice, fast and clear. I thank you, JamesMartin, HenryD and eightinavee. I hope this leads to a full recovery of my idiot status (the wife says, "no way"). Anyway, I shall get to it and lose the rubber. I feel this will be a good day. Thanks guys, appreciate your...

Front wheel-sealed hub/bearing clean out? ABS.

I have made a booboo. Why I did this I will never know! After "chirping" in front CV joint(passengers side), I replaced both sides and on refitting ABS sensor to passenger side I "popped" a pea sized amount of grease on 'hole' before screwing home! (I know, and I put it down to early dementia)...

    Manuals

Hiya I am a newby to the forum, but I can read. I know we are now in 2012 and first listing for catalogues was 2009. If you still have parts catalogues available, for 2001 Disco TD5 (Xreg) and/or 1976 Series 3 88" 2.25 petrol, I would be very grateful for a copy. Thanks a lot. Andy.
