    Diagnostic port cannot find?

I've got a cheap (under £10) device off eBay...VgateScan OBD Scan ..interfaces via Bluetooth to a free app on my Android phone. I'm pretty sure that it works with my Disco 2. I'll check later on. EDIT: Well, it says it is connected to the ECU and that there are no faults,. However...

What type roof rack for these bars?

The roof bars on my Disco are like the ones here...fat and round (bit like my sister!.) I've spent all afternoon trying to find out what roof rack fits these but have completely drawn a blank. I need a couple of bars across the roof to take some timber (weight restrictions noted). Any...

Clanging sound from the rear on overrun

OK guys...thought I'd give you an update. I knew that the Watts linkages was worn and due to be replaced. Part of me hoped that this would sort out the problem but the sensible part told me 'no'. Sensible part was right. Rear diff just been replaced. I saw the old one and they...

Clanging sound from the rear on overrun

Gradually getting worse and worse, on overrun I will get a loud banging sound from under the rear - sounds like someone hitting an anvil repeatedly. Bang..bang..bang. Local garage is suggesting that it's the diff on the way out. TIA

OK...I will say this very very slowly. Forums are usually there to give help and advice. Not for some wise-arse to make snide replies while typing with one hand leaving the other free to .......

    Nearly had a heart attack

Discovered that the last service on my 'new' purchase was back in March 2011. So a full service seemed like a good idea. But who to go to? My days of crawling underneath with a spanner are over (I hope). Mind you, that ground clearance on the Disco is awesome. First up, main dealer. How...

    Location of air intake

Great... very helpful reply. Did it not occur to you before you engaged your cynicism that perhaps I hadn't yet bought the bloody thing?

    My first Land Rover!

Well, a Discovery at any rate ! An '04 ES Premium auto. Awesome sound system :D A few niggles I've found with it which I'd welcome any advice on. 1) The retaining strap on the drivers door seems not to be fixed inside the door pillar...sort of floats around..as the door is opened it moves...

    Location of air intake

LOL....thanks guys. I'll settle for those sorts of depths. Just that round here with the weather we've been getting there is one part that does get flooded and we get stranded. Looking to buy a decent secondhand Td5 but suddenly realised that if the air intake was only 3" above the ground...

    Location of air intake

Wondered if anyone can tell me the location of the air intake on a Discovery? Just wondering how deep a flood I can safely negotiate. (PS Sorry but I'm not sure of the differences between Disco 1, 2, 3 etc ) TIA

    Wood sheet carrying capacity

I'm looking to purchase an old 'Rover (preferably LandRover) and wondered whether any can take whole sheets of 8x4 sheet wood material/plasterboard etc in the back. Ideally flat (ie not resting on a wheel arch). Needs to be secure so I need a 'hard' roof. Very grateful for any recommendations.
