    wet feet

Mine has a HUGE gap at the top of the drivers door which is made worse when driving at speed as the door bounces on the seal. At some point prior to me owning it, the door has taken a whack and dropped slightly. But rather than repairing it, the owner at the time adjusted everything to match...

    Bloody fuel gauge sender....

Yes, I've checked the sender against the gauge outside of the tank and it's reading the full sweep fine - there is definately something blocking it inside the tank, but I don't understand why. This is the supposedly correct sender for my vehicle, and I have tried others and they all suffer the...

    wet feet

How about the vent seals? When it rains on mine, it runs out right in the middle of both foot wells, about knee height! ;-) My vent seals are completely gone and need replacing!

Well, that didn't work, so posted as attachments this time - same order.

    Heat shields....

Ok, here's some pics... This is the turbo heat shield This is the exhaust shield And this is the best pic I could get of the thing behind the exhaust shield SOrry about size - I think they may be too big! ;-)

    Heat shields....

Will try and get some pics for you shortly. The shield on the exhaust has something immediately above it - looks like some kind of hydraulic cylinder - it has solid type tubes coming out of it - can't really explain it, so will try and photo it for you.

    Heat shields....

Hi I have two broken heat shields on my 200tdi Deepender 110... One around the turbo which is a fibreglass type, and another on the exhaust just after the drop from the engine, right underneath below the starter motor. The turbo shield has snapped off at the top fixing - any idea how...

    Bloody fuel gauge sender....

Hi - I'll try and keep this as short as possible... WHen I bought my 110 Deepender, the fuel gauge only read down to half a tank, so I assumed the sender was knackered. Went to Bearmachs and they gave me one that was completely different than what was already in there - I had a zinc'd metal...

    Urgent second hand spares needed...

In the Kent area - tried Any Part which is my local breakers - they have a Defender there with a couple of doors but owner is undecided whether to sell as a whole or break it.

    Spray painting the Landy...

I've gotta get it signwritten as I'm gonna be using it as my company vehicle so the finish needs to be suitable for that, also once it's signwritten I can't really respray for a few years otherwise it'll cost a fortune in vinyl and labour! Saw some vehicles at the shop in various stages and...

    Urgent second hand spares needed...

Yeah, only one suitable on there at the moment - still one day to go on the auction and price is fast approaching the same as Paddocks prices.

    Urgent second hand spares needed...

Hi all - I urgently need a replacement RH drivers door for my 110 landy - the existing one had taken a bash before I bought it and the door has split just below the window line - as a result the top of the door bounces on the seals and lets water in badly. Does anyone know of somewhere I can...

    Spray painting the Landy...

Just had a chat with a guy who runs a small spray shop and he can do a final coat over what I've already done with 2-part satin black for just £150 inc. masking which I thought was a good price. Once I've bought the paint and a decent spray gun for my compressor I'd be looking at nearly that...

    Spray painting the Landy...

Hmmmm....thanks for the info - seriously considering respraying with the compressor and using acrylics like you suggest. Do you think I'll need to treat the existing matt black? It's Halfords own brand car spray paint - the ones in the grey tins. How far did the 2ltrs of acrylic go? Approx...

    Spray painting the Landy...

I treated all rusty areas, keyed all surfaces, sprayed two coats of primer and then two coats of matt black. The only topcoat I know of is laquer, but that ain't gonna work on Matt is it?? Defeats the whole point of matt black? I've got a compressor, so perhaps the best route would be to...

    Spray painting the Landy...

Hi all I've just finished spraying my 110 Defender Matt Black with cans (yeah, I know now don't I!!). It looks mainly great, except for slight blotching on the larger panels due to the use of cans, but I'm not worried about that. What I am worried about is the durability of the paint - it...

    Can anyone identify this noise?...

Ok, finally picked up some new UJs from my local Bearmach - changed the rear's and the noise is gone completely - really smooth ride now too so I'm well chuffed!! Also, had my local Land Rover specialist have a quick look over and he feels I've picked up a good deal with the price I paid, and...

    Can anyone identify this noise?...

Ok, so it seems the general opinion is still the UJs as originally thought. Will try regreasing the existing ones, and then change them if still no change. Thanks for the help! DC
