    Mpg again

I think thats pretty good really. If I take it easy, I get about 400 to a tank full. It is quite a bit better if most of it is motorway but short trips round town is very expensive. Andy

    Heated windscreen

I had my screen replaced under warrenty at no cost to me. I had similar problem but neither side of the screen would heat. Got it done before warrenty ran out. Shame the car is an 04 and its now out of warrenty. I'm just waiting for the bills to come rolling in. Andy

    WOW Noisy roof bars!!

I fitted some home made roof bars to my Freelander to carry some 8 x 6 sheets of chipboard. On the way down to the timber merchants the arial kept banging on the bars but no problem on the way back with the chipboard strapped on. Left the home made bars on for a few days and not a reap...

    Quick Question on the MAF

Just a bit of close out, after cleaning the MAF there was a bit of improvement but still a marked 'turbo kicking in' sensation. You know, no power.........turbo....power comes on. Anyway I replaced the stock rather dirty air filter with a K&N filter (less than £60 from Halfords) and that...

    Quick Question on the MAF

Had the MAF out earlier this week because I didnt feel I was getting the performance out of my TD4 that i used to get. And based on the general concensus here that the MAFs are only good for about 30,000 miles I decided to have a look at the state of mine at about 29,000. Anyway, as I said...

    Is it my MAF?

Hi guys, A little advice needed. I have a 28,000 mile 2004 Freelander TD4 and recently I feel it has lost some of the power it had when I bought it this time last year. There does seem to be some lag before the turbo kicks in resulting in one or two heart stopping moments at junctions...

At least the new car tax wasnt as high as it could have been

"its still based on co2 emissions and the 400 pound level is only for cars in band G that were manufactured after 2006" They said the last increase was only for new vehicles but I was still hit with the maximum tax for my 04 TD4. I think we were all ripped off last time and I bet we get...

    back box !!

I have seen somebody on some forum with the back box removed and replace with a motobike type exhaust. Added advantage was much more underfloor clearance and a more interesting exhaust note. Maybe a cheaper box could be purchased and fitted for less.

Pump/motor whine after ignition turned off

Definately a Fuel Burning Heater. I was a little worried when the thing first kicked in on my car, loads of smoke out from under the front lhs wing. When I contacted Land Rover they explained what it was and said that is what comes with buying a high quality vehicle. I bet there is quite a...

'Audio In' on a 2004 Freelander HSE Stereo

Its maybe worth a try for a tenner I suppose. But does nobody have any idea if the stereo fitted has an audio out. Or perhaps an idea what the make and model number is of the stereo that is fitted?

'Audio In' on a 2004 Freelander HSE Stereo

Had a look on ebay. Do a search under MP3 Player Accessories. As little as £2.99 but they are comming out of Hong Kong and you have to pay a fiver for postage, and thats assuming it actually turns up (sorry, had a bit of a let down from one ebay seller, but wont go into that). But of...

'Audio In' on a 2004 Freelander HSE Stereo

Hi Guys, Does anybody know if there is an Audio In on the Stereo on my 2004 HSE Freelander. Not sure what the make of the stereo is but its the one with the GPS system. Trying to attach my MP3 phone to the car so I can have lots of additional music. If not, can anybody think of other...

Harmon Kardon on a 2004 HSE Freelander

Had Hunters Landrover Derby pick te car up from work and asked them to look at the subwoofer. On return of the car, Suprise suprise, they said there is nothing wrong with it. They put it down to settings on the stereo. Words from the guy who delivered it back, "look press the db button...

Harmon Kardon on a 2004 HSE Freelander

Its a 2004 Freelander so luckily still under warranty. Only had the car for a couple of months and trying to get every little thing sorted befor the car is out of warranty. Touch wood, with it being an 04 car, it shouldnt break down QUITE as often. Andy

Harmon Kardon on a 2004 HSE Freelander

Thanks Neil. Guess I will just live with it. Cant afford to improve it at the moment (Currently preparing to take a car dealers to court over a miss sold Gap insurance on a car o wrote off, but thats another story), and if I wanted to, I dot want to reduce what little boot space there is.
