Hello from Izmir Turkey to all the LR fans. It's a pleasure to be here.
Roads here in Turkey are
so in November 2005 year we changed my wife's car to a Freelander TD4 2006 model. She was reluctant at first, having driven a VW Polo up until then
but is now a total convert
. Occasionaly I get to drive it
. Now has 23,000 km on the clock, about 14,300 miles in real money.
Other evening after parking up outside the house and turning off the ignition I heard what sounded like a high frequency whining noise coming from the engine compartment. Sure enough, on getting out the car the noise was quite audible but stopped on its own about 30 seconds later.
Have driven the car on a quite few other occasions since then and have only heard it a couple of times, always stopping on its own.
Sounds like a sticky pump or motor to me but I am no expert, thus, over to you guys....any ideas?
