the turbo charger from the omega and bmw cars will not fit straight on the exhaust compressor housing is different. but you could use the cartridge and bolt it into your original range rover housings as the cartridge is the same ( central part of the turbo )

actually if you wanted to fix it without bodging hot start kits and switches in is advance the injection pump timing to between 1-1.5mm which compensates for the wear/slack in the timing chain.
