hi, fitted new mud shields to my series 3 , what do you use to protect the bulkhead/footwell below the mud shield , would mud flaps do the job or maybe extend the mud shield.

I'm sure I heard that the mid to late 70,s were the worst, due to British Leyland taking over.

Pity they didn't continue with the waxing of the inside as well, because usually rot from the inside out.

Been looking on the classifieds for a series , and noticed loads of the series one listing as never been welding on the chassis was the steel that much better back then .

I'm in South Wales , and I've seen the series 3 on eBay and spoke to the owner , but I'm after a more original one , truck cab , 21/4 diesel. Good old work horse , no fancy stuff , and tax exempt, wales

Just about giving up on finding a half decent series to buy, been to see a few and they are not as advertised

Been looking for a original swb series truck cab diesel for a while now, but most I've seen are non original , different wheels ,engine ,seats etc . the original ones are a thing of beauty.

I know a local guy who re chassis his series at least 15 years ago and it is still good , no welding

Been to see a few series, one was supposed to have galvanised chassis , it didn't , it was painted silver , and another that had the chassis repaired and dipped , and of cause they rot from the inside out ,

Havnt had a Land Rover for over ten years , last one was a Series 2a , looking again maybe another series or an early 90
