i've got to replace my fuel sender unit because it has died , anyway i was wondering if there is any way to wire up a low fuel warning light to my 1975 series 3 or if any sender units come fitted with this super luxury item

my fuel guage wont work on my 1975 3 series , i've checked all that all the wires are ok and cleaned all the terminals . i also grounded it against the tank and the fuel guage went up to full . what does this mean ? do i need to buy a new sender unit ?

dont think any crap went into the engine we disconnected the snorkel , and the engine side of the inlet pipe was clean so luckily it looks like its just pooled at the end near the filter
