im looking for a set of series 3 doors because mine have been eaten to peices by the rust faires , i was reading on the interweb about door parts and a few sites has said about peolpe who have fitting doors from 90's etc . can someone please clear up what doors i can fit to a 1975 seires 3 88 please cos im planing to go hunting the local scrap yards

and also what seats can i get that will do a straight swap ? the ones in mine are completly trashed so i need to find some replacements . im 6ft 2 so leg space is a bit of an issue but wouldnt mind some that have a back angle adjuster for a little bit more comfort if possible . whay do you guys have in your series 3's ?

many thanks :D

got original style seats back in our '76 S3, but i'm only about 5'6 so it's comfy lol, did have some awful recaro jobs in there when we got her, driving position prob would have suited you better but you'd have feck all headroom! if you can make your own basic frame to bolt the seats to you can fit almost anything as long as you don't care what it looks like, i find the old style seats throw you about less than the boingy recaro ones did

yeah i dont want to go for the full on rally bucket seats but just something that will allow me to drive without needing a season ticket to my local Chiropractor

Defender doors will fit, but you will have to change the receivers on the door pillar to match. Be careful though, 90 doors rust worse that series ones!

I have fitted Recaro seats from an Astra GTE - they are so comfy, happily do 500 miles a day without any back or bum ache. They are partly bucketed, just enough support but without being hard. My mate is just over 6 foot and headroom is nor a problem in the slightest, miles of room, especially head room.
