    Painting my fuel tank

Just doing my Series tank - rubbed it down, then used red oxide primer and Frosts chassis black. Looks brand new!

What have you done to your Landie today.

Went to my first "pay 'n' play". Scared myself. Spent the rest of the day jetwashing mud off the underside of the Landy. Rear drum brakes were full of mud - the drive home was interesting!

Stainless Steel Door Bolts - Corrosion?

Flippin'eck! You really wouldn't believe we were on the same continent! It's been T-shirt weather here today (sorry if that's just rubbing salt in the wound :o) 'tis true what they say - the grass is greener... etc. I was really envious of everyone else having loads of snow to go and play in...

How do we clean and refurb our suspension

The way I do it is: Degrease! Wire brush attachment on the angle-grinder / drill and get all the old paint off. (You could sandblast it, but I don't have the kit for that at home.) Coat of marine-quality zinc-rich red primer (I use Corroless) Coat of black chassis paint (I use Frosts) And...

    110 Decisions

I feel your pain, Steve - I'd be gutted if I had to get rid of my Ninety. I suggested getting a 110 as well for my wife to use, but she wasn't keen - mainly because she'd have to put the fuel in it and it'd use twice as much as her Civic! I can understand your wife's concern. However, I'm not...

    your Defenders nick name?

My Ninety is called "Mortimer" - for no better reason other than a bloke at work started calling him that and it stuck. My Series 2 is called "Pod" - from his number plate.

I believe they have colour-coded "routes" so you can choose how mad/brave you want to be. Look forward to seeing your 88 - I've got one myself.... in about 300 pieces!

Got my tracking done - matey said it was bloody miles out! What a difference it's made - it's like having a new Landy.

    Rear crossmember loom

The loom runs inside the offside chassis rail from front to back, exiting just in front of the rear cross member. It then goes up to the rear of the offside lights, and crosses on top (if I remember correctly) of the cross member to go up to the rear of the nearside lights. To be honest, once...

    Quick advice please torgue wrench

I bought one in Aldi a few weeks back! Cost about £20 I think - I wasn't expecting much, but I tested it against my Draper one and it reads exactly the same. Well chuffed for use as a spare to keep in the Landy.

    Welding - help!

Mine is a "Rallymig 166" - I believe it's a 160A welder and yes, it'll run off a standard 13A socket. MIG / MAG (Metal Inert Gas / Metal Active Gas) welding does require a shielding gas - I use a refillable Argon/CO2 mix as it works out a lot cheaper than using the disposable ones. My first...
