I bought one in Aldi a few weeks back! Cost about £20 I think - I wasn't expecting much, but I tested it against my Draper one and it reads exactly the same. Well chuffed for use as a spare to keep in the Landy.

Have picked up some reasonable tools through Amazon

Brought this Draper torque wrench

reasonable quality and fine for the occassional use it'll get

I did a search for torque wrenches on google and found Search results for torque wrench : Tooled-Up.com

I bought my torq tourqe wrench from them many years ago when i was working as a subby for aggreko generators, Has lasted well.
But honestly how often do you actually use your torque wrench on your Landy ???

Got to admit it doesnt come out that often ok i torqued the radius, trailing arm and upper link bolts woth it cylinder head bolts, but not for anything else really and for doing timing belts you need a different type of torque wrench anyway

I got a 3/4 inch Teng one for stuff like that. Had it donkey's though, and came as part of a set. Teng stuff seems good quality IMHO.
3/4" I think you mean 3/8" :)
I remember reading a group test of 1/2" torque wrenches in a car mag once and there was very little difference in the actual torque produced from the most expensive to the cheapest. The mag eventually made their recommendations based more on quality of construction and ease of use.

Yep, that's why I prefer the non-adjustable ones. Simple, no need to get them adjusted, dont break.
