    My P38 Won't Start

Hmm.. I assumed it wasn't a fuse as a message normally pops up when a fuse fails, but I guess it might not for the maxi fuses. I'll check it in the morning, thanks.

    My P38 Won't Start

Thanks Wammers. Just been looking at the Electrical Troubleshooting manual in RAVE and there are a few tests which can be performed with a multimeter. Trouble is I don't really understand the diagrams and what it's telling me to connect the multimeter to. Would you be kind enough to tell me...

    My P38 Won't Start

Thanks. I've seen mention of the Sync-Mate on a couple of other threads, but when I looked at the eBay listings it says "Your engine turns over, but won't start up!" - but mine doesn't turn over, the starter motor doesn't even kick in. I'm not sure you know.. I noticed earlier that the A/C...

    My P38 Won't Start

So, I went to fit an after-market head unit yesterday. After trying (and failing) to install said head unit with the factory amp, I gave up and put the factory Clarion head unit back in. I'll revisit that another day, as I have a bigger problem now. Went to pop to the shops 5 mins later...

Brakes stick "off" slightly then engage with a "pop"

It kind of fits, but then I wouldn't describe it as a "click". It's odd, it's almost as though I have to push past something with the pedal, then as it "gives" it issues an audible wheezy "pop" from under the bonnet and the brakes work normally. Perhaps I should just bleed the brakes anyway -...

EAS - Harsh Ride - Calibration?

Thought I'd best come back and update - weirdly I haven't been getting any emails so I didn't realise there were any news posts, sorry. LOL - what bloody great silly wheels? I have standard 16's! :p The 38 psi is the recommended unloaded pressure by a couple of independant websites (Kwik Fit...

Brakes stick "off" slightly then engage with a "pop"

Weird problem.. I replaced all my discs & pads several weeks ago and I've noticed since then that after about 30 mins of driving the pedal starts to resist my foot at the top of its travel and doesn't engage the brakes. I then have to push harder until it "pops" and then the brakes engage and...

EAS - Harsh Ride - Calibration?

What I'm used to is a 3-series BMW as I've owned three of them over the past 4 years (one after the other, not at the same time)! I've only had the P38 for a couple of months and it's the first Land Rover I've owned, but my father-in-law has always had at least one as long as I've known him...

EAS - Harsh Ride - Calibration?

I must admit I thought it odd that the front's listed as only needing 28, that seemed backwards to me as the rear is lighter without load, right? I'll certainly try that then. I also think the tyres are looking a bit old. Not worn.. just very slightly cracked around the edges. I think someone...

EAS - Harsh Ride - Calibration?

The cable just arrived today so it's not adjusted yet. Hope to get it done in the next day or so, work permitting. I have the tyres pumped to 38 at the rear and 28 at the front, going purely by HiQ Online's tyre pressure guide. What would you say is a safe pressure to reduce it to? Anything I...

EAS - Harsh Ride - Calibration?

I asked a question about something I didn't know; Whether or not I should re-calibrate based on the height measurements I'd taken. You answered that, I accepted that answer, and appreciated it. I didn't completely agree with the theory surrounding pressure vs height, but never claimed to know...

But those three quotes were directed at me, the OP?

EAS - Harsh Ride - Calibration?

Woah, hold on a second. I appreciate your advice, agreed with it and thanked you. I just didn't agree with the theory about pressure vs height, but it was all friendly debate. I'm saddened that I've engendered such a response. I had, and still have, every intention of taking on board each...

EAS - Harsh Ride - Calibration?

I don't appreciate these comments. I have agreed with you several times, but you still don't seem to be taking my point. I have every intention of checking & replacing any / all suspension components which need so doing. But why not calibrate first?

EAS - Harsh Ride - Calibration?

Vouge, I think you missed my earlier post. If not, you missed my point. I'm not saying it isn't a component. BUT do you think I should leave it riding too high? It should still be correctly calibrated!

EAS - Harsh Ride - Calibration?

I think we're talking cross-purposes. Yes you will need pressure to inflate, to overcome the weight of the vehicle. But once inflated, is the pressure in the air springs any different at low vs. standard vs. high? No. Why? Because the car weighs the same at each height. I'm not going to...

EAS - Harsh Ride - Calibration?

I'm not debating this - I completely agree - but it's down to spring rate, not pressure. I'm not about to do that! But I'd expect the pressure to equalize once inflation/deflation has completed. It's simple physics (admittedly I only studied it to A level so others will be more...

EAS - Harsh Ride - Calibration?

Agreed - and I will - but it's still worth calibrating first given the cost/effort involved. Also the spring rates at different ride heights make calibrating worthwhile (see my previous post - it think we submitted at the same time). Also I just noticed you're in Hullbridge! Nice and close...

EAS - Harsh Ride - Calibration?

Hi guys. I wasn't going to post again until after I received the cable from Datatek, but I see this conversation is carrying on without me so I might as well have some input as it's my thread! :) @JohnP38 & vougese39 I agree there could be faults with other suspension components causing...

EAS - Harsh Ride - Calibration?

Whilst I agree you probably shouldn't dick about with the settings unnecessarily, you have an actual problem which doing so may resolve. I'm certainly going to - I think as long as you're sensible and follow the guidelines you'll be fine.
