    Door card trim

Hi all. Has anyone had any success retrimming their door cards with fabric rather than painting? On searches I see a few people were toying with the idea. Has anyone had a go? Twisted do rather swanky ones, but I was hoping for a lower budget spray glue and stretched fabric approach. Twisted's:

    Can't select reverse

Thanks for your replies. The box is under warranty, but unfortunately the garage I had the work done at isn't local, so I was looking for a solution that would cost less than the diesel required to drive out there. I managed to get the tunnel off and took out the plunger casing. Quick...

    Defender 200tdi heater box

I've got a heater box from my 200tdi waiting to go to the tip unless anyone wants it. The fan motor seized but I got a good deal on a new box on eBay, so replaced the whole thing. It will need a new fan motor and a good clean, but no leaks from the matrix, so could be useful to someone. Cost...

    Can't select reverse

Thanks for the fast reply chaps. I'll unbolt it once the snow stops. If that doesn't work, do you think the selector may be at fault? Thanks

    Can't select reverse

Hi all. I have an LT77 gearbox. It's an Ashcroft box that's done around 100 miles or so since being installed. Selecting reverse took several attempts and now can't be selected at all. It just won't go left far enough. I've done a search and found it might be the plunger. Is this the plunger in...

    90 interior panels

Not the greatest photo, but gives some idea of how mine looked before I got creative with the cloth.

    90 interior panels

Can't find a sketch I'm afraid. All the measurements are in the back of my 90 that's still at the garage awaiting a replacement gearbox after it failed catastrophically on the M1 last month. At the bottom of the side panel is a convenient lip that I used to rest the panel on. Measuring from...

    90 interior panels

I've just made these for my 90. 6mm marine ply from B&Q comes in 2440mm x 1220mm for about £20 and if you get the measurements beforehand they'll do 7 cuts for free. 2 small notches cut out of the rear end and use a holesaw to cut a hole for the seat belt hanger. Quick covering of acoustic cloth...

    Dead Locks for 90`s

These look great. Have you been able to get a price for a 90 yet?

    Another headlining question

I've just recovered mine. Loads of how to videos on YouTube. Pulled the old stuff off, quick brush with a wire brush to get rid of the old foam, then used hi temp spray adhesive to stick acoustic cloth on top. They're all fluffy and warm now.

    Masai tinted windows

How much was it for fitting? They've got a great YouTube video showing how to DIY, but even so I'd find some way of messing it up.

    Putting rubber in

Do you just have to wring them out when you hear the squelch underfoot?

    Putting rubber in

Thanks for that. How do they cope holding water? The new ones have a nice lip running all the way around to hold the paddling pool that develops after every rain fall.

    Putting rubber in

Hi all. I have a 200tdi 90 with an LT77 box. I'm looking for new rubber mats to put in and like the look of these which are for the latest Defender. They have a part number VPLDS0147. Will these fit in my earlier Defender? Is there a huge difference in the gearbox tunnels? There's also LR005039...

    Diff lock wont disengage

Thanks guys for your very thorough posts. I think I've got the hang of the low range box now. Much appreciated

    Diff lock wont disengage

Hi there, My defender screeches like a strangled cat when it goes round anything but the shallowest of bends. I suspect the diff locks are in, but without a manual I don't know how to work the low range gearbox. Can someone please take pity on me and explain as you would to a child how to work...

    raining inside my doors

That's great. Thanks for the manual. Going to have a little sealing session before the next shower.

    raining inside my doors

I decided to do the spanner rain dance again today. Every time I go outside with a couple of spanners, it the heavens open. I should take my landy to the desert I'd make a fortune. Anyway as I cowered inside my '93 Defender 90, I noticed just how much rain was seeping through the rubber seals...
