raining inside my doors

I decided to do the spanner rain dance again today. Every time I go outside with a couple of spanners, it the heavens open. I should take my landy to the desert I'd make a fortune.

Anyway as I cowered inside my '93 Defender 90, I noticed just how much rain was seeping through the rubber seals at the bottom of the windows and raining through the inside of the door. In fact the rubber seals look as if they're designed to pool water against the glass to compound the problem.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem? I've even run a bead of silicon along the passenger window to seal it, but it's still getting wet inside. Would new rubbers help?

I likes it when my tratter leaks above the window, its great when I haven't washed in a few days I can give myself a reet good clean:lol:

As hippo will tell ya, all that water coming in is so us tratter boys get a wash once in a while:D:D

Me too mines leaking top of the drivers door.... I wasnt that thirsty yesterday and i was drinking a can tennants super at the time so the water really ****ed me orf.... :D

Mine leaks into the passenger footwell, but only with a certain type of rain:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:. Absolutely tipping down.......... not a problem, dry as a bone. That fine rain.............. puddle in the footwell:confused::confused:, what the hell is that all about :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:.

There's also a couple of drips from the roof, but these are I believe a 'safety feature', every now and again a couple of drops of freezing water go down the back of your neck to prevent you dropping off at the wheel, very handy:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

I think that fine rain is a lot wetter than the big drops cos theres less space for air in between so there's more of it. its like when you has a shower at home, you can have it on spray and its lovely and you get all nice and wet or you can have just one big lump of water and drown.

Yep - mine too!

Have a theory (unproven) that which way it is parked makes a difference (bonnet downhill/uphiill and slight tilt left or right)

Thinking of using some dum dum to create an extra seal at the bottom hinge end of the doors - wondering if rain runs down the outside and then finds its way in.

As you say, unpredictable but probably going to just have to accept whiping the mats out every few weeks to dry out:eek:
