    How to avoid Britpart?

try Brit Car they'll offer you the choice of Genuine, OEM or pattern. The pattern stuff is usually Bearmach or Britpart, but at least you can see the differences in price. Excellent service everytime I've been or ordered over the web.

    Question on alarm/immobilisers

You'd need a certificate from the installer. If it's factory installed that's usually adequate. If you don't have a certificate, another installer might 'inspect' it and produce one, but thats a big might.

    Snap-off steering wheel

TBH, unless you fit a pedal lock and a gear stick lock, just taking the steering wheel off isn't going to help. There is a very simple way of driving it without the steering wheel, sadly. Used in isolation things like steering locks, pedal locks, handbrake locks, etc don't really offer much...

    Security devices...

I wouldn't worry - they already know ALL the tricks of the trade. They don't need to wade through forums like this to find out how to steal your car. We should be more open about security, it's only by discussing with each other that we learn what works and what doesn't. The secrecy is a red...

Special Question about the military Defender "Wolf"

The EMLRA will be able to help you out with all the answers. Give em a try. If you're thinking of buying a 'wolf' make sure you get a real one, and not something someone's painted green and called a wolf for the benefit of ebay.

    Door lock, lock or barrell?

Eh'yup, I discovered this morning that my passenger door is easily opened even when locked!! Why am I not surprised? I've got the old style lift up handles not the new push button jobbies; so is this going to be the lock barrell that's shagged, or the handle/lock body, does anyone know...

    Tried to steel

So, we've established steering lock and pedal lock would be a start. What about gear stick locks like xdefend - gear. Locks the gear stick to the tranny box lever. Comes with lock nuts to prevent unbolting of gear sticks apparently too.

    Tried to steel

I'd argue the other way round.. Disklok far too easy to pry off, whereas a full cover pedal lock is much harder to defeat surely. By full cover I mean one that doesn't offer the opportunity to cut off the pedals and drive on the stalks, of jus locks the brake or clutch.

Heater fan switch - what's normal?

Heater fan switch - what's normal?

How do all.. So the heater/blower is pretty well known by all I would think, but I'm struggling to get an accurate idea of what is normal operation. Could the collective brain give me a hand? Off is at the top, with the lever a the "O" position. Full-welly is at the "2" position. On my 90...
