have just cracked off injector pipes and no3 makes no difference. so im guessing its losing compression on that cylinder. lots of grey smoke which i think is unburnt fuel, and engine is vibrating all over the place.

bloody bollox!! 10 hours to change head, and its running rough as a badgers arse!!!!! sound like its running 3 cylinders. chuffing air out intake is worse!! lots of grey smoke.

i used to struggle to engage low R in my disco 2 , then and it would bang really bad and jump out of drive!!! used a bungee to keep it in hi R eventually i couldnt engage low R at all. dont know what was wrong, i changed tranny box and it was sorted!

right so im about to put on a second hand head, that has been crack tested and skimmed. (according to seller). i have checked with straight edge and it is flat! im not looking at rebuilding head just want quick turn around as cheap as pos. to get back on the road. done a quick valve sealing...

another thing i have noticed is the exhaust gasses are bloody hot!!!!

would a crack between valves cause water loss and steam out the exhaust pipe?

white smoke/steam pluming out exhaust when ticking over, engine warm, loss off coolant

i only got it in January, so cant be sure, but the guy did say hes never had any problems with it!

was gonna have to take it off anyway to have a look at popping valve problem.

pretty much yea, havent done a lot of miles since it was done. last night though sat at traffic lights it was pouring out!! engine warm.

haven't heard that one, will give it a go, also saw a youtube vid holding paper over tailpipe, if it flaps (gets sucked back to pipe) there is a valve problem, so will give that a go too. are there any good ways to cure a sticky valve, or is my head coming off (again)

when i bought it there was no booming, but the air intake definitely popped like on the vid

is it the air intake sound that makes you say that?

AAAAGGGGHHHHH!!! this is driving me nuts!! so removed all airbox pipes from wing to turbo and STILL booming!! so recap booming when revved. when stationary can here it a little but more so when driving. dip the clutch and its gone! noise is louder in driving seat and def quieter in rear seats...

collet was next to valve spring so yea retrieved and re fit as its only a few weeks old. also still looked new! right, so next thing to try is removing air intake pipes right up to turbo! i will update when i get results!

air filter is new. is it safe to drive it with no pipe on the inlet of the turbo? if so i will do that as it could eliminate any intake pipe problems or vibrations!
