i only got it in January, so cant be sure, but the guy did say hes never had any problems with it!

white smoke/steam pluming out exhaust when ticking over, engine warm, loss off coolant

Have you had a good look between the valves, both my current in use and spare 200 heads are cracked there, not causing a problem as of yet, so just surface cracks
would a crack between valves cause water loss and steam out the exhaust pipe?

I had a cracked head on my 2.5D NA. It was cracked between the exhaust and inlet ports. Coolant was pressurised and I had constant steam out of the exhaust (lots of it).

so ive ordered a new gasket kit and i have a spare head thats been skimmed and p checked so that will be going on this weekend! Oh the joys
I would say yes if the crack went deep enough, obviously in my case it doesnt as uses no coolant at all.

another thing i have noticed is the exhaust gasses are bloody hot!!!!
